Hauge or Hauge i Dalane (pronounced ''Haua'' in the local dialect) is the administrative center of Sokndal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located along the river Sokno, between the coastal villages of Rekefjord and Sogndalsstranda. Sokndal Church is located in the village. The village has a population (2019) of 2165 and a population density of . The origin of the name ''Hauge'' is from the Old Norse word ''Haugr'' meaning "mound". Suldal is a municipality in the northeast corner of Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Ryfylke. Since 1965, the administrative centre of Suldal is the village of Sand i Ryfylke (prior to that it was the village of Suldalsosen). Sokndal Church
Sokndal Church ( no, Sokndal kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Sokndal Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Hauge. It is the main church for the Sokndal parish which is part of the Dalane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform design and in a Louis XVI style in 1803 using designs by an unknown architect. The church seats about 800 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1307, but the church was not new at that time. Records from the 1600s refer to the church as , so it was likely dedicated to Saint Jacob. The medieval church stood on the site for centuries and over time it was renovated, repaired, and rebuilt. Sogndalsstranda
Sogndalsstranda or Sogndalstrand is a harbor village in Sokndal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the mouth of the river Sokno, about south of the municipal centre of Hauge and also about southeast of the village of Rekefjord. The Jøssingfjorden lies about southeast of the village. The village has about 280 residents and it has become a tourist destination since the 1990s. The old village has many wooden buildings and warehouses. These buildings and the surrounding area were protected by law in 2005. Locally, the area is also known as simply Strondo. Rekefjord
Rekefjord is a harbour village in the municipality of Sokndal in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located around the Rekefjorden, about west of the municipal centre of Hauge i Dalane. The village of Sogndalsstranda lies about southeast of Rekefjord. The Lille Presteskjær Lighthouse is located at the mouth of the fjord, just south of the village. A railway line was constructed in the 1860s for bringing ore from the Blåfjell Mines to Rekefjord for shipment. The railway has since closed and today it is a pedestrian and bicycle path.
