"Hate to See Your Heart Break" is a song by American rock band Paramore, recorded for their 2013 self-titled fourth album ''Paramore''. It was re-recorded to feature vocals by folk singer Joy Williams (formerly of The Civil Wars) for the 2014 deluxe edition of the album, the first time Paramore has collaborated with another artist or group on a studio recording. Background Hayley Williams and Joy Williams have been real life friends for over a decade. H. Williams explained, "I love that I got to sing this with someone who I have shared my pains and my stories with for quite some time." According to H. Williams, the duet version of the song is also an ode to "close friendship between women who share their stories with each other, and who lift each other up and understand one another." The Civil Wars
The Civil Wars were an American musical duo composed of Joy Williams (singer), Joy Williams and John Paul White. Formed in 2008, The Civil Wars won four Grammy Awards prior to their 2014 breakup. Paramore Songs
Paramore is an American rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, formed in 2004. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro. Williams and Farro are founding members of the group, while York, a high school friend of the original lineup, joined in 2007. The band is signed to Fueled by Ramen, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records, both owned by Warner Music Group. Williams was separately signed to Atlantic as she was scouted when she was a teenager, and they were the only label to let her stay in the band instead of going solo, but Atlantic said the rest of the band had to sign to Fueled by Ramen. She is also the only member to appear on all five of Paramore's studio albums. The Village (also known as Village Recorders, or the Village Recorder) is a recording studio located at 1616 Butler Avenue in West Los Angeles, California. History The building was built by the Freemasons in 1922 and was originally a Masonic temple. It remained that way until the 1960s, when Maharishi Mahesh Yogi used the building as a center for Transcendental Meditation. The temple was converted into a recording studio in 1968 by composer and meatpacking heir Geordie Hormel. The Village is home to a vintage Neve 8048 console as well as two Neve 88R consoles. The Village is renowned for its extensive inventory of vintage microphones and outboard gear.
