"Hate to Say I Told You So" is the first single from Swedish rock band the Hives' second studio album, '' Veni Vidi Vicious''. It was first released as a single on 4 December 2000 and was later re-released in several countries in 2002. It is internationally known as the Hives' signature song. It was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single in 2002. In March 2005, '' Q'' placed it at number 54 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. The Hives
The Hives are a Swedish rock band that rose to prominence in the early 2000s during the garage rock revival. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. Each chart is dated with the "week-ending" date of the previous Thursday (i.e., the day before issue). Active rock stations play a balance of new hard rock songs with valued classic rock favorites, normally with an emphasis on the harder edge of mainstream rock and album-oriented rock. Mainstream rock (also known as heritage rock) is a radio format used by many commercial radio stations in the United States and Canada. Format background Mainstream rock stations represent the middle ground between classic rock and active rock on the programming spectrum, in that they play more classic rock songs from the 1970s and 1980s and fewer songs from emerging acts than active rock stations, and only rarely play songs on the softer edge of the classic rock format. They program a balanced airplay of tracks found on active rock and classic rock playlists, but the music playlist tends to focus on charting hard rock music from the 1970s through the 2000s. Modern rock is an umbrella term used to describe rock music that is found on college rock radio stations.
