Worthington Miner
Worthington Miner (November 13, 1900 – December 11, 1982) was an American film producer, screenwriter, actor and director. He was married to actress Frances Fuller, with whom he had three children, including producer/director Peter Miner. He was the paternal grandfather of actress Rachel Miner. Prior to his work in television, Mr. Miner - known as 'Tony' - directed more than 30 plays in about 10 years, starting with ''Up Pops the Devil'' in 1929 and including ''Reunion in Vienna,'' starring Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne; ''Both Your Houses,'' a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Maxwell Anderson; ''On Your Toes,'' the Ray Bolger musical; ''Jane Eyre'' (starring Katharine Hepburn), and ''For Love or Money''. In 1939, after more than 10 years in the theater, Mr. Miner publicly criticized it as "highly undemocratic". Dorothy Burgess
Dorothy Burgess (March 4, 1907 – August 20, 1961) was an American stage and motion-picture actress. Family, education Born in Los Angeles in 1907, Burgess was a niece of Fay Bainter. On her father's side, she was related to David C. Montgomery of Montgomery and Stone. Her grandfather was Henry A. Burgess, Sr. He came to Los Angeles in 1893, establishing a business at Terminal Island. His home was at 637 West 41st Place. He was born in England. Her dad was H.A. (Burgie) Burgess, a pioneer air-transport executive. For a decade, he was an assistant to Harris M. (Pop) Hanshue, who founded Western Air Express (Western Airlines), and was its first president. Burgess studied drawing, painting, and sculpture at Mrs. Dow's School in Briarcliff Manor, New York. Murray Kinnell (24 July 1889 – 11 August 1954) was a British-born American actor, recognized for playing smooth, gentlemanly, although rather shady characters. He appeared in 71 films in the USA between the pre-code era of 1930 and 1937. He was best known as the two-timing petty-larceny hood Putty Nose in ''The Public Enemy'' (1931). He also appeared in a number of the Charlie Chan series of films. He had a brief tenure in stage work from 1911, prior to his cinema career. On 11 August 1954, Kinnell died at his home in Santa Barbara, California. David Durand (July 27, 1920 – July 25, 1998) was an American juvenile actor. Career Durand appeared in the silent film Tropic Madness (1928) when age 8, of which a complete version is considered lost. However, one reel (14 minutes) was discovered in 2022 and is now available on YouTube on the Rainscratch channel. Margaret Brainard Hamilton (December 9, 1902 – May 16, 1985) was an American actress. She was best known for her portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West, and her Kansas counterpart Almira Gulch, in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's film '' The Wizard of Oz'' (1939).
