Released in May 2001, the song was the first number-one single for the singer in France. Belarus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Hasta la vista" written by Eleonora Melnik and Taras Demchuk. The song was performed by Ruslan Alekhno. The Belarusian entry for the 2008 contest in Belgrade, Serbia was selected through the national final ''Eurofest 2008'', organised by the Belarusian broadcaster National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC). "Hasta la vista" () is a song by Serbian girl group Hurricane. It was chosen to represent Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, that has since been cancelled. Its lyrics, in Serbian save for the title and a line in the second verse, revolve around the subject talking to a lover who has been unfaithful to her. An English language version was released with the same music video and themes. Whilst footage from the music video shoot was shown before the song was broadcast on '' Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light'', the excerpt of the song aired was from the ''Beovizija'' performance. ''Hasta La Vista'' is an Albanian novel written by Petro Marko in 1958. It widely encompasses the author's experience in the Spanish Civil War in which he was part of the International Brigades, Garibaldi Battalion. Plot The novel tells two interwoven, non-separated stories. The first revolves mainly around the Albanian members of the International Brigades, the horrors of war that they experience and also their personalities and personal philosophies. Among the characters are some notable Albanian figures like Skënder Luarasi, Asim Vokshi, Mehmet Shehu, and Petro Marko himself.
