Hassan Abu Libdeh
Hasan Abu-Libdeh (; born 1954) is a Palestinian statistician and politician, who founded the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics in 1993. He served in the Palestinian National Authority as Minister of Labour, Social Affairs, and National Economy. Biography Hasan Abu-Libdeh was born in Arrabeh, West Bank in 1954. He completed a Bachelor's degree in mathematics at Birzeit University in 1979, and an M.Sc. in mathematical statistics at Stanford University in 1981. Abu-Libdeh later received an M.Sc. in applied statistics in 1986 and a Ph.D. in biostatistics in 1988 from Cornell University. He worked as assistant professor at Birzeit University from 1988 to 1991. Arraba, Jenin
Arraba ( ar, عرّابة ʻArrābah), also Arrabah, Arrabeh or Arrabet Jenin, is a Palestinian town in the northern West Bank located 12 kilometers southwest of Jenin. It has an elevation of 350 meters above sea level and lies near Sahl Arraba, a plain that lies between Mount Carmel and Nablus. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) census, Arraba had a population 10,000 in 2008. Tell Dothan is located just north-east of Arraba. Palestine Investment Conference
The Palestine Investment Conference (PIC) is aimed at strengthening the economy of State of Palestine, Palestine and supporting a future Palestinian state. It took place in the Bethlehem Convention Palace, Convention Palace Bethlehem in 2008 and 2010. The conference was hosted in 2008 by Palestinian prime minister Salam Fayyad and in 2010 by Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas. It was attended by the official envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East, Tony Blair. In 2010, the U.S. delegation was led by the Special Envoy for Middle East Peace George J. Mitchell. The 2008 conference was focused on large development initiatives. One outcome is the planned city of Rawabi. The 2010 conference focused on small and medium enterprises.
