Haryana Urdu Akademi
Established in 1985 by the state Government of Haryana, India, the mission of thHaryana Urdu Akademiis to promote Urdu language in the state of Haryana. Activities The activities of the Akademi involve organizing seminars, events (e.g. mushairas) and publishing magazines and books. The Akademi also bestows literary awards for contributions to the culture of Haryana through scholarship towards Urdu language in Haryana. These include The National Hali Award and state awards (i) Munshi Gumani Lal Award (ii) Kunwar Mohinder Singh Bedi Sahar Award and (iii) Surendra Pandit Soz Award. Government Of Haryana
The Government of Haryana, also known as the State Government of Haryana, or locally as the State Government, is the supreme governing authority of the Indian state of Haryana and its 22 districts. Mushaira
''Mushaira'' ( ur, , Mušā'ira) is a poetic symposium. It is an event (called ''mehfil'', Mushairi) where poets gather to perform their works. A mushaira is part of the Culture of North India, Pakistan and the Deccan, particularly among the Hyderabadi Muslims, and it regarded as a forum for free self-expression. Kunwar Mohinder Singh Bedi pen name Sahar was an Indian Urdu poet. ''The Times of India'' called him a "noted Urdu poet". Personal life Sahar was born in Montgomery, Punjab, British India on 9 March 1909 now in Pakistan and after Partition of India-Pakistan his family shifted to Fazilka, India Career His poetry is varied and includes traditional themes of love and yearning but also themes of unity, peace between India and Pakistan and humor. Jagan Nath Azad
Jagan Nath Azad (5 December 1918 – 24 July 2004), List.No.380 was an Indian Urdu poet, writer and academician. He wrote over 70 books, including poetry collections, poems, biographies, and travelogues. He was an authority on the life, philosophy and works of Muhammad Iqbal. He served as President of the Iqbal Memorial Trust for a term of five years (1981–85). Azad was elected vice-president of Anjuman Taraqqi-i-Urdu (Hind) (a national body for the promotion of Urdu under the Ministry of Human Resource Development), in 1989 and President in 1993, remaining in this office till his demise. He was at his writing desk until fifteen days before he died – of carcinoma and a brief illness – at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre in New Delhi, India on 24 July 2004.
