Harwood Samuel Coombe Jarvis (30 August 1884 – 10 October 1936) was an Australian cricketer who played two first-class matches for South Australia during the 1905–06 season. Brompton is an inner-northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Charles Sturt. History Brompton was established in June 1849 and quickly grew. By October of that year, two-thirds of the formerly "bare common ground ascovered with substantial and genteel cottages, thriving shops and wells of excellent water." The Victoria men’s cricket team is an Australian first-class men's cricket team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The men’s team, which first played in 1851, represents the state of Victoria in the Marsh Sheffield Shield first-class competition and the Marsh One Day Cup 50-over competition. It was known as the Victorian Bushrangers between 1995 and 2018, before dropping the Bushrangers nickname and electing to be known as simply Victoria in all cricket competitions. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Percy Hutton
William Frederick Percy Hutton (2 October 1876 – 1 October 1951), known as Percy Hutton, was an Australian cricketer who played a single first-class cricket, first-class match for South Australia cricket team, South Australia during the 1905–06 Sheffield Shield season. A wicket-keeper, he was only to keep wicket for a small portion of the game, after being injured early. Later in life, Hutton also won golf and lawn bowls tournaments, including some national events in the latter sport. Outside of sports, he was prominent in South Australian agricultural circles, holding a position with the Australian Wheat Board. He was also a councillor for the City of Unley. Philip Mesmer Newland (2 February 1875 – 11 August 1916) was an Australian sportsman who excelled at Australian rules football, cricket and lacrosse. He played Sheffield Shield cricket for South Australia as a wicket-keeper and toured England with the Australian Test team in 1905. Life and career Newland was a member of the noted Newland family of South Australia. His father was author Simpson Newland and he was the brother of surgeon Henry Simpson Newland and politician Victor Marra Newland. Phil Newland was educated at St Peter's College, Adelaide, and the University of Adelaide, where he studied law. He was called to the Bar in 1899. Newland made his first-class and Sheffield Shield debut in 1899/00 but had to wait over two years to make his second appearance. The New South Wales men's cricket team (formerly named NSW Blues) are an Australian men's professional first class cricket team based in Sydney, New South Wales. The team competes in the Australian first class cricket competition known as the Sheffield Shield and the limited overs Marsh One-Day Cup.
