Harvey Parry
Harvey Parry (April 23, 1900 - September 18, 1985) was an American stuntman and actor whose career spanned the silent era and the disaster movie genre of the 1970s. Born on April 23, 1900 in San Francisco, California, Parry had been an Association of American Universities boxing and diving champion, and had a spell in a circus as an acrobat. His first film job was as a property man at the studios, before realising that his skills made him ideally suited to perform stunts, an increasingly in-demand feature of early cinema. He first worked for Mack Sennett in 1919, before doubling for Harold Lloyd in one of his early 'thrill' pictures, ''Never Weaken'' (1921). Parry performed the reverse shots before an oncoming locomotive for Monty Banks’ racing car to train transfer in '' Play Safe'' (1927). Peter Lorre
Peter Lorre (; born László Löwenstein, ; June 26, 1904 – March 23, 1964) was a Hungarian and American actor, first in Europe and later in the United States. He began his stage career in Vienna, in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, before moving to Germany where he worked first on the stage, then in film in Berlin in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Lorre caused an international sensation in the Weimar Republic-era film '' M'' (1931), directed by Fritz Lang, in which he portrayed a serial killer who preys on little girls. Of Jewish descent, Lorre left Germany after Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party came to power. His second English-language film, following the multiple-language version of ''M'' (1931), was Alfred Hitchcock's '' The Man Who Knew Too Much'' (1934), made in the United Kingdom. ''Hollywood'' (also known as ''Hollywood: A Celebration of the American Silent Film'') is a multi- BAFTA award winning 1980 documentary series produced by Thames Television which explored the establishment and development of the Hollywood studios and their impact on 1920s culture. At the 1981 BAFTA television awards, it won Best Factual Series, Best Film Editing and Best Graphics. The series has seldom been released on home video formats, apparently due to the complexity of obtaining home video rights to all of the film clips used. As of early 2020 it remains unavailable. Thames Television, commonly simplified to just Thames, was a Broadcast license, franchise holder for a region of the British ITV (TV network), ITV television network serving Greater London, London and surrounding areas from 30 July 1968 until the night of 31 December 1992. ''A Fine Mess'' is a 1986 American comedy film written and directed by Blake Edwards and starring Ted Danson and Howie Mandel. The film was intended as a remake of Laurel & Hardy's classic short ''The Music Box"'' and was to be semi-improvised in the same style as the director's earlier comedy '' The Party'', but studio interference, poor previews and subsequent re-editing resulted in the film becoming a fully scripted chase comedy with very little of the original ideas for the film remaining intact.
