Harvest Home (1995 Film)
''Harvest Home'' ( fil, Inagaw Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin) is a 1995 Philippine melodrama film directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna and produced by Armida Siguion-Reyna. The film stars Maricel Soriano and Snooky Serna as sisters reunited after the death of their father. Based on a story by Oscar Miranda, Bibeth Orteza, and Carlos Siguion-Reyna, it was written for the screen by Orteza. The film was selected as the Philippines entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 68th Academy Awards but was not accepted as a nominee. Plot In a quiet, rural village, Jacinta (Maricel Soriano) patiently tends to her mother Alemda (Armida Siguion-Reyna), a religious and pious woman who has slowly been losing her sanity since the death of her husband Arcadio (Robert Arevalo) several years prior. Armida Siguion-Reyna
Armida Siguion-Reyna (born Armida Liwanag Ponce Enrile; November 4, 1930February 11, 2019) was a Filipina singer, film and stage actress, producer and television show host. She was the chairperson of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board during the Estrada administration from 1998 to 2001. Early life and education Armida Siguion-Reyna was born as Armida Liwanag Ponce Enrile on November 4, 1930 in Malabon, the daughter of Alfonso Ponce Enrile, her Spanish ''mestizo'' father who was a lawyer and regional politician, and Purita Liwanag, her mother who was one of the early graduates of the University of the Philippines College of Music. FAP Awards
The Luna Awards are awards given annually by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Filipino film industry. The first awards were presented in 1983 in Pasay. It is considered to be the Philippine counterpart of the Oscars. It used to be known as the FAP Awards until in 2005 when it got its current name. Since 2007, the Academy started holding simple awards ceremonies due to lack of government funding and reduction of its share from MMFF earnings. This also caused some delays for ceremony scheduling. History In 1981, the Executive Order 640-A was passed by then President Ferdinand Marcos. Emanuel Levy
Emanuel Levy is an American film critic and professor who has taught at Columbia University, New School for Social Research, Wellesley College, Arizona State University and UCLA Film School. Levy currently teaches in the department of cinema studies at New York University. Emanuel Levy was born and grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel. After military service, he attended Tel Aviv University, where he obtained a B.A. degree in Sociology, Anthropology and Political Science. He pursued a M.Phil and Ph.D. (in distinction) in Sociology of the arts (focusing on film and theater) from Columbia University in 1975 and 1978, respectively. ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project
ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project or also known as Sagip Pelikula, was a digital film restoration project of ABS-CBN Corporation in partnership with Central Digital Lab. The project is headed by Leo Katigbak of ABS-CBN Film Archives and Manet Dayrit of Central Digital Lab. The goal of the project is to digitally restore and remaster select Filipino films from the archives of ABS-CBN. Since the beginning of the project in 2011, the project has successfully digitized, restored, and remastered over one hundred Filipino films into a 1080p or 2K Digital Cinema Package format with a maximum resolution of 2048x1080 pixels at 24 frames per second. These films have been released through a wide array of platforms including limited theatrical runs, film festivals, free-to-air and cable television, DVDs, pay per view, and over-the-top content platforms such as iTunes.
