Hartvig Caspar Christie (politician)
Hartvig Caspar Christie (25 November 1893 – 21 March 1959) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Hornnes. A priest by profession, he was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1950 and was later re-elected on two occasions. He had previously served in the position of deputy representative during the term 1945–1949. Hartvig Asche von Schack, born 1644, died of wounds received at the battle of Steenkerque 1692, was one of many North German noblemen serving the King of Denmark. Schack entered Danish service 1665 as an ensign in the colonel's company of his close relative Hans Schack's regiment. Becoming a groom of the chamber 1677, he was gradually promoted in that regiment, becoming its colonel in 1678; the regiment by then being named Prince George's Regiment. Hartvig Philip Rée (12 October 1778 – 1 October 1859) was a Jewish-Danish merchant and author who built a large shipping and trade business to become one of the wealthiest people of his time. He created the first Jewish cemetery and synagogue in Aarhus at a time when Jews were frequently discriminated against and the Jewish population was negligible. He published a number of written works, mostly related to Jewish theology but also dealing with broader subjects such as economics. Warly life and education Rée was born in Fredericia to the German merchant Philip Hartvig Rée (1744–99) and his wife Hanna Hartvig (1759–1830) who had immigrated from Hamburg. Hartvig Nissen
Ole Hartvig Nissen (17 April 1815 – 4 February 1874) was a Norwegian philologist and educator. He founded Nissen's Girls' School in Christiania in 1849. In 1865 he became director-general in the Ministry of Education, while remaining one of three joint headmasters of Nissen's Girls' School until 1872. In 1873 he was appointed to the prestigious position as rector of Oslo Cathedral School. Personal life Hartvig Nissen was born in Melhus as a son of Lutheran priest, Peder Schjelderup Nissen (1775–1826) and Bolette Margrethe Musæus (1774–1859). Hartvig Sverdrup Eckhoff (30 December 1855 – 17 February 1928) was a Norwegian architect. He took his education at the Technical University of Munich, and opened an architect's office in Stavanger in 1881. He was assigned to design several important city buildings; the first was Rogaland Teater, erected in 1883. He later designed the Stavanger Gymnastics Association (1891), Stavanger Museum (1893) and Stavanger Hospital (1897). All these buildings are characterized by historicism, Neo-Renaissance architectural revival style, the latter with a different expression, performed mostly in raw red brick. Eckhoff designed several villas in western Norway, and distinguished himself as a church architect. Hartvig Marcus Lassen (9 August 1824 – 9 August 1897) was a Norwegian editor, educator and literary historian. Personal life He was born in Bergen, Norway as a son of police chief and burgomaster Albert Lassen (1783–1860) and his wife Abigael Vogt Monrad (1792–1861). He was a nephew of professor Christian Lassen (1800–1876). He attended Bergen Cathedral School and graduated from the University of Christiania in 1843. Hartvig Krummedige (also referred to in the Hartvig Erikssøn Krummedike and Hartvig Krummendick) was a Danish nobleman who was born circa 1400 in southern Jutland, Denmark and died in 1476 at Akershus Fortress, Norway.
