Harry Young (American Football)
Harry Killenger "Cy" Young (March 8, 1893 – September 24, 1977) was an American football, basketball, and baseball player and coach. He played college football as a Halfback (American football), halfback at Marshall College—now known as Marshall University from 1910 to 1911 and Washington and Lee University from 1913 to 1916. Young served as the head football coach at the College of William & Mary for one season, in 1917, compiling a record of 3–5. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1958. Early life and playing career A native of Charleston, West Virginia, attended three colleges and participated in the athletic programs of all three. Harry Dove Young (5 January 1867 – 20 June 1944), generally referred to as Harry D. Young, was a vigneron and politician in South Australia. Harry Young (socialist)
Harry Young (28 February 1901 – 1995) was a British socialist activist. Born in Stoke Newington, Young attended a socialist Sunday school in Islington. He worked in a large number of jobs and, at various times, joined the Herald League, the British Socialist Party (BSP), and the Industrial Workers of the World, while still a teenager. Inspired by the October Revolution, he joined the Communist Party of Great Britain soon after its foundation, in 1920. He was soon appointed as national organiser of its associated Young Communist League (YCL), and in 1921 became the youngest member of the party's executive committee. The following year, he was appointed as the YCL's representative in Moscow, attending the Fourth Congress of the Comintern. On returning to the UK, he served as editor of the English language edition of ''Communist International'', and then as manager of the Collets Bookshop on Charing Cross Road.
