Harry Wilcox
Harry Melbourne Wilcox (17 January 1878 – 21 July 1937) was an English professional footballer who scored 66 goals in 174 appearances in the Football League playing for Small Heath, Preston North End, Leicester Fosse and West Bromwich Albion. Playing career Wilcox was born in Dalston, London. A forward, he began his football career with Bromsgrove Rovers before joining Small Heath in September 1898. He made his debut in the Second Division on 17 September 1898 in a 3–1 win at home to Barnsley, and played 17 first-team games over the next two seasons, but never established himself in the side. At the end of the 1899–1900 season he joined Watford of the Southern League, and a season later returned to the Football League with Preston North End. His 14 goals made him Preston's leading scorer for 1901–02, and two years later he helped them win the Second Division title. Plymouth
Plymouth () is a port city and unitary authority in South West England. It is located on the south coast of Devon, approximately south-west of Exeter and south-west of London. It is bordered by Cornwall to the west and south-west. Plymouth's early history extends to the Bronze Age when a first settlement emerged at Mount Batten. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions. The Central and South Divisions are at step 3 of the National League System (NLS), and are feeder divisions, mainly to the National League South but also to the National League North. Feeding the Premier Divisions are two regional divisions, Division One Central and Division One South, which are at step 4 of the NLS. These divisions are in turn fed by various regional leagues. The 1912–13 Southern Football League season was the 19th in the history of the Southern League, a football competition in England. This season saw no First Division teams apply for election to the Football League. Plymouth Argyle won the league championship whilst Brentford and Stoke were relegated to Division Two. Cardiff City won the Division Two championship. They were promoted to Division One along with runners-up Southend United. No Second division teams left the league this season. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. As central midfielders often go across boundaries, with mobility and passing ability, they are often referred to as deep-lying midfielders, play-makers, box-to-box midfielders, or holding midfielders. There are also attacking midfielders with limited defensive assignments.
