Harry Hepworth
Harry James Hepworth (born 9 December 2003) is a British artistic gymnast. He represented Team GB at the 2023 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships competing in the individual vault and floor events. He also participated at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Early life and education At the age of five Hepworth was diagnosed with Legg–Calvé–Perthes disease which sidelined him from sporting activity for three years. He then took up artistic gymnastics shortly after this. Leeds, West Yorkshire
Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. 2023 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 10th European Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held from 11 to 16 April 2023 in Antalya, Turkey. This was the 45th European championships in total for men, and 35th in total for women (including the separate men's and women's championships held in even numbered years). The competition was a qualifying event for the 2023 World Championships. There were 39 nations represented by 319 athletes - 176 men and 143 women. Great Britain topped the medal table with four golds, four silvers and one bronze medal. 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Antwerp, Belgium at the Sportpaleis, from 30 September to 8 October 2023. Antwerp hosted the event for the third time; previously the city hosted the first ever World Championships in 1903 and again in 2013. The championships was a qualification event for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The top nine teams in both the men's and women's team qualifications (not including teams that qualified at the previous year's World Championships) obtained five quota places for Paris as a team. Additionally, numerous individuals qualified with a nominative berth for the Olympic Games. Legg–Calvé–Perthes Disease
Legg–Calvé–Perthes disease (LCPD) is a childhood hip disorder initiated by a disruption of blood flow to the head of the femur. Due to the lack of blood flow, the bone dies (osteonecrosis or avascular necrosis) and stops growing. Over time, healing occurs by new blood vessels infiltrating the dead bone and removing the necrotic bone which leads to a loss of bone mass and a weakening of the femoral head. The condition is most commonly found in children between the ages of 4 and 8, but it can occur in children between the ages of 2 and 15. It can produce a permanent deformity of the femoral head, which increases the risk of developing osteoarthritis in adults. Perthes is a form of osteochondritis which affects only the hip. Bilateral Perthes, which means both hips are affected, should always be investigated to rule out multiple epiphyseal dysplasia. Prince Henry's Grammar School, Otley
Prince Henry's Grammar School ( Specialist Language College), also known as Prince Henry's or PHGS, is a secondary school and sixth form established in 1607 in the market town of Otley, West Yorkshire, England. The school teaches boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18 and has around 1,400 pupils and 84 teachers. It retains a high position within regional league tables. In 2016 Prince Henry's had the third highest results for GCSEs in Leeds. Also in 2016 PHGS was the best state school in Leeds for A Level results. The school has repeatedly received a 'good' rating from Ofsted with outstanding features, however has in the past received criticism for the state of the old school building.
