Harry Harvey (politician)
Harry Harvey is a Unionist politician from Northern Ireland representing the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Harvey has been a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for Strangford since 2019. Born in Crossgar, Northern Ireland, Harvey is the son of politician Cecil Harvey. He worked at Bells Crossgar Motors for twenty years. At the 2014 Northern Ireland local elections, Harvey was elected to represent the Rowallane area on Newry and Mourne District Council, for the Democratic Unionist Party. Newry And Mourne District Council
Newry and Mourne District Council ( ga, Comhairle an Iúir agus Mhúrn) was a local council in Northern Ireland. It merged with Down District Council in May 2015 under local government reorganisation in Northern Ireland to become Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. It included much of the south of County Armagh and the south of County Down and had a population of over 99,000. Council headquarters were in Newry, the largest settlement and only city in the area; it has a population of 28,850. Other towns in the council area included Crossmaglen and Bessbrook in County Armagh and Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Hilltown, Annalong and Kilkeel (an important fishing port) in Down. Strangford (, Ulster Scots: ''Strangfurd'') is a constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly. The seat was first used for a Northern Ireland-only election for the Northern Ireland Forum in 1996. Since 1998, it has elected members to the current Assembly. Cecil Harvey was a unionist politician in Northern Ireland. Harvey was a founding elder of Ian Paisley's Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster, in 1951. The following year, he suggested the congregation's move from Crossgar to Whiteabbey. He was also active in the Orange OrderHenry Patterson and Eric P.
