Harry G. Snyder
Harry G. Snyder (February 11, 1938February 23, 2023) was an American lawyer, judge, and Republican politician from Waukesha County, Wisconsin. He served on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in the Waukesha-based 2nd Appellate district from 1991 until his retirement in 2010. Earlier in his career, he served six years in the Wisconsin State Assembly and eleven years as a Wisconsin circuit court judge in Waukesha County. Biography Snyder was born on February 11, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and attended Ripon College, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University Law School. Career Snyder served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps as an officer in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve. Wisconsin Court Of Appeals
The Wisconsin Court of Appeals is an intermediate appellate court that reviews contested decisions of the Wisconsin circuit courts. The Court of Appeals was created in August 1978 to alleviate the Wisconsin Supreme Court's rising number of appellate cases. Published Court of Appeals opinions are considered binding precedent until overruled by the Supreme Court; unpublished opinions are not. The Court hears most appeals in three-judge panels, but appeals of circuit court decisions in misdemeanor, small claims, and municipal ordinance cases are decided by a single judge. Composition The Court of Appeals comprises 16 judges elected to six-year terms in four geographic districts. Ripon College is a private liberal arts college in Ripon, Wisconsin. As of fall 2018, the college enrolled around 800 students, the majority of whom lived on campus. Students came from 14 nations and 33 states, 53% were female, and nearly 70% of students were Wisconsin residents. History Ripon College was founded in 1851, although its first class of students did not enroll until 1853. It was first known as Brockway College, named for William S. Oconomowoc High School is a public high school located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Oconomowoc Area School District. As of the 2021–22 school year, it had 1,686 students. History Oconomowoc High School was built in 1923. The La Crosse-based architectural firm Parkinson & Dockendorff designed the original building. The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
