Harry Finch
Harry Alfred Finch (1907–1949) was a professional rugby league footballer in Australia's leading competition - the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership in the 1920s and 1930s. Finch was also an Australian Kangaroos, Australian international who played for both the Sydney Roosters, Eastern Suburbs and South Sydney Rabbitohs, South Sydney clubs. Playing career Born Sydney, Australia and educated at Marist Brothers High School at Darlinghurst, New South Wales, Darlinghurst, Harry Finch, a , made his first grade debut with Eastern Suburbs in the year 1925 NSWRFL season, 1925 as an 18-year-old. He played 16 matches with Sydney Roosters, Easts’ in the years (1925-6). In his second year at the club Finch, was selected to make his state debut for the New South Wales rugby league team in the interstate series against Queensland. The 1927 New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership was the twentieth season of Sydney's top-level rugby league club competition, Australia's first. Nine teams from across the city contested during the season, which culminated in South Sydney's victory over St. George in the premiership final. Season summary The 1927 season saw a new record for length of a player's suspension. Balmain's Bill Maizey was suspended for twelve months for punching Easts player George Clamback.
