Harry Evans (football Manager)
Harold Evans was the manager of Blackpool F.C. between 1928 and 1933. After the resignation of Sydney Beaumont, the Blackpool directors, concerned about financial pressure, decided against appointing a full-time replacement and instead appointed Evans, also a director of the club, with the title of ''honorary manager''. He was in charge for the next five seasons, aided by the club's trainers. Sydney Beaumont
Sydney Beaumont (8 October 1884 – May 1939) was an English professional footballer and football manager, runner and cricketer. He played at both half back and left wing during his football career and won many trophies for middle-distance running. Early life and playing career Beaumont was born in Wrestlingworth, Bedfordshire, and began his career with Colchester Town. He moved on to Lincoln City, making his league debut in the 1904–05 season. However, he made just five league appearances for the Imps before joining Bedfordshire side Biggleswade & District. He joined Watford in 1909, playing in the Southern League. He played 25 times for Watford before joining Preston North End in 1911, but made just one league appearance before joining Merthyr Town in the 1912 close season. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981. Alex 'Sandy' MacFarlane
Alexander MacFarlane (1878 – 22 December 1945) was a Scottish professional football player and manager. As a player, he won the Scottish Cup with Dundee in 1910. As a manager, he won the Third Division South with Charlton Athletic in 1929. Playing career MacFarlane first played in Scotland for Airdrieonians before moving south to join Woolwich Arsenal in 1896. He only made seven appearances for Arsenal, his debut coming against Grimsby Town on 28 November 1896, and returned to Airdrie the following year. His second move south of the border was more successful, joining Newcastle and becoming their first-choice inside-left. In three seasons in the north-east, MacFarlane made eighty-four First Division appearances, scoring seventeen goals in three consecutive top six finishes, as well as two FA Cup appearances.
