Harry A. Pollard
Harry A. Pollard (23 January 1879 – 6 July 1934) was an American silent film actor and Film director, director. His wife was silent screen star Margarita Fischer. Biography Harry A. Pollard was born in Republic, Kansas, and began his career on the stage. In 1912 he joined the Selig Polyscope Company and starred in many of its motion pictures. He began directing films in 1913, and eventually stopped performing. His wife was actress Margarita Fischer, who starred in many of his films. Pollard died in Pasadena, California, on 6 July 1934, aged 55, after a brief illness. The Loaded Door
''The Loaded Door'' is a 1922 American silent Western film directed by Harry A. Pollard and starring Hoot Gibson. It is not known whether the film currently survives. Plot As described in a studio publication, Bert Lyons (Gibson) returns to his ranch to discover his foreman dead and the ranch leased to a real estate shark. The new hands seem to be trafficking in booze and narcotics under the guise of raising cattle. He goes to see his sweetheart Molly Grainger (Olmstead) who shares her suspicions. The smugglers do not care for Bert's curiosity and plan to "get him." The new boss of the ranch has designs on Molly, and tells her that he will assist in freeing her brother Joe (Sutherland), who is in prison charged with murder, if she goes with him across the border. Bert learns of this ruse, tricks the smugglers, and rides to Molly's rescue. The smugglers are rounded up, and Joe is freed, leaving Bert and Molly to plan their new home. ''The Invisible Ray'' is a 1920 American science fiction film serial directed by Harry A. Pollard. Early press accounts cited the "scientific foundation of the plot. In this respect the production differs from other serials. Fact and not fancy governs the action throughout. The plot is based on a scientific investigation made by the author of the serial, Guy McConnell, investigation for several research institutions and for the Chemical Division of the United States Department of the Interior."
