Harrison County School Board is the operating school district within Harrison County, West Virginia. It is governed by the Harrison County Board of Education and serves over 11,200 students in Harrison County. Dora Stutler is the current superintendent. Clarksburg, West Virginia
Clarksburg is a city in and the county seat of Harrison County, West Virginia, United States, in the north-central region of the state. The population of the city was 16,039 at the 2020 census. It is the principal city of the Clarksburg micropolitan area, which had a population of 90,434 in 2020. Clarksburg was named National Small City of the Year in 2011 by the National League of Cities. Harrison County is a county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 65,921. Its county seat is Clarksburg. Harrison County is part of the Clarksburg, WV Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Indigenous peoples lived in the area that would become Harrison County for thousands of years. Bridgeport High School (West Virginia)
Bridgeport High School is the comprehensive four-year public high school located in the city of Bridgeport, West Virginia, in Harrison County that operates as part of the county of the Harrison County School District. The current BHS building opened in the 1969 and sits on the campus. Since then, several major additions have been added to accommodate the increasing enrollment. The first addition was completed in the 1981. The second addition was completed in the 1992 which included the two state of the art computer labs. Liberty High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school located in Clarksburg, West Virginia, in Harrison County, West Virginia, United States, that operates as part of the Harrison County School District. The school is located on Davisson Run Road. The school opened in 1973 after Bristol High, Salem High and Victory High schools consolidated into Liberty High School and its colors are red, white, and blue. The school mascot is the Mountaineer. Band Liberty High School's marching band was once one of the state's largest marching bands under the leadership of Michael Perri, who retired in 2003. South Harrison High School
General History In 1965, Lost Creek High School and West Milford's Unidis High School were consolidated to create South Harrison High School. This new school was a grade 7-12 facility. In the summer of 1996, the Harrison County Board members officially separated South Harrison High School and South Harrison Middle School into two facilities. In 2006, the Harrison County Board voted and once again placed the high school and middle school under one administration. Again in 2010, the Harrison County Board members voted to once again split the High School and Middle School into two separate facilities. South Harrison High School is in Lost Creek, West Virginia.
