The Oklahoma House of Representatives is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Its members introduce and vote on bills and resolutions, provide legislative oversight for state agencies, and help to craft the state's budget. The upper house of the Oklahoma Legislature is the Oklahoma Senate. The Oklahoma Constitution established the powers of the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1907. Voters further amended those powers through constitutional referendums. One referendum required legislators to balance the annual state budget. Others specified the length and dates of the legislative session. Today, there are 101 House members, each representing a legislative district. District boundaries are redrawn every decade to ensure districts of equal population. Lee R. Denney is a politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Elected in 2005, she currently represents district 33 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and is speaker pro tempore of the House. During her time in office, she has been the primary author of 204 bills. Terry O'Donnell (born November 1, 1963) is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party who has served as the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Oklahoma House Representative for the 23rd district since January 8, 2013. He first won elected office in the 2012 Oklahoma state elections. In January 2021, O'Donnell was promoted to be the speaker pro tempore of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, the second highest ranking Republican Party of Oklahoma member in the state house.
