Harold Parker (sculptor)
Harold Parker (27 August 1873 – 23 April 1962) was a British-born sculptor, raised in Queensland, Australia, and subsequently worked in the United Kingdom. Early life Harold Parker was born in 1873 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. His family moved to Brisbane, Australia in 1876. Artistic career He studied at the Brisbane Technical College under John A Clarke and Godfrey Rivers, then in 1896 left for London where he studied under William Silver Frith, then worked as assistant to Thomas Brock, Hamo Thornycroft and Goscombe John. He rented a studio near that of fellow sculptor John Tweed, and from 1903 to 1929 regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, and occasionally at the Old Salon, Paris. He was commissioned to portray Queensland expatriates and became a rival of Bertram Mackennal. In 1906 he was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. Harold Carlyle Parker (26 September 1892 – 30 January 1917) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). He died of wounds received in active service in France in World War I. Family The son of Robert Grainger Parker and Eva Parker, he was born in Elsternwick, Victoria on 26 September 1892. He attended Essendon State School. He married Jessie Parker (she remarried after the war and became Mrs. Cumming). At the time of his enlistment, he gave his occupation as warehouseman. Sir Harold Parker, KCB, KBE, MC (1895 – 5 February 1980) was an English civil servant. He entered the civil service in 1914 but his career was interrupted by service in the First World War; he joined HM Treasury after demobilisation in 1919. He was deputy secretary at the Ministry of Pensions from 1941 to 1946 and the Secretary of the Ministry from 1946 to 1948. Between 1947 and 1956, he was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence. After leaving the service, he was chairman of the Corporation of Insurance Brokers Society of Pension Consultants until 1970, and a president of the Amateur Swimming Association in 1958."Sir Harold Parker"

Harold Parker State Forest
Harold Parker State Forest is a publicly owned forest with recreational features encompassing more than in the towns of Andover, North Andover, North Reading, and Middleton, Massachusetts. Ponds, swamps, rolling hills, glacial erratics and rocky outcroppings can be found in the state forest, which features more than of backwoods roads and trails as well as remnants of 18th-century farming and milling operations. It is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. History The forest was among the state's earliest acquisitions of logged-over land for purposes of reforestation. It was established in 1916, and named for the Massachusetts State Forest Commission's first chairman, Harold Parker, who died that same year. The Civilian Conservation Corps was active at two camps in the forest from 1933 until 1941.
