Harold Mendez
Harold Mendez (born 1977) is a Chicago-born artist based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his work in the 2017 Whitney Biennial and has also had work exhibited in and collected by the Museum of Modern Art, Studio Museum in Harlem, Smart Museum of Art, Institute of Contemporary Art (Los Angeles), Institute of Contemporary Art (Miami), Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Wexner Center for the Arts. Personal life In 1977, Harold Mendez was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is a first generation American and his father is from Mexico and his mother is from Colombia. Career Mendez graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a Master in Fine Art in 2007. Carrie Moyer is an American painter and writer living in Brooklyn, New York. Moyer's paintings and public art projects have been exhibited both in the US and Europe since the early 1990s. Life and work Carrie Moyer is a painter and writer who has been showing her work since the mid-1990s. Jumana Manna (born 1987) is a Palestinian visual artist. Born in the United States, she lived in Jerusalem and Oslo, and now resides in Berlin. She holds U.S. and Israeli citizenship. Sahar Khoury (born 1973) is an American artist and sculptor. Jamillah James (born 1980) is an American curator. She is the Manilow Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Early life and education James grew up in New Jersey. Her mother was a musician. James's early interest in music and film provided one way into the world of visual art. The National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA), formerly known as the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, is a museum featuring Mexican, Latino, and Chicano art and culture.
