Harold Henderson (British Politician)
Harold Greenwood Henderson, CVO (29 October 1875 – 1 November 1922), was a British Conservative politician. Early life Born in Brentford, Henderson was the eldest son of Alexander Henderson, 1st Baron Faringdon of Buscot Park in Berkshire (now Oxfordshire), and his wife Jane Ellen (née Davis). He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion of the Royal Berkshire Regiment on 3 March 1894. He transferred to active service in the British Army when he was appointed a second lieutenant in the 1st Life Guards on 3 February 1897, and was promoted to lieutenant on 2 April 1898. With a detachment from his regiment, he served in the Second Boer War in South Africa 1899–1900, and received the Queen's South Africa Medal (with two clasps). After his return, he was on 6 September 1902 promoted to captain, and appointed adjutant of the regiment. Harold Gould Henderson
Harold Gould Henderson (1889–1974) was an American academic, art historian and Japanologist. He was a Columbia University professor for twenty years. From 1948 through 1952, he was the President of the Japan Society in New York, Henderson, Harold G. In 1934, he joined the faculty of Columbia. His academic career was interrupted by military service in the Second World War. At war's end, he returned to Columbia, retiring in 1956. In 1945 he married Mary A. Benjamin, (1905–1998), "The Autograph Lady", and the daughter of Walter Romeyn Benjamin (1854–1943) and took over her father's business at his passing. Her mother was Rachel Seigne (1875–1954). In World War II Lieutenant-Colonel Henderson's war service took him to Japan. General Douglas MacArthur's staff during the occupation of Japan included a Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives (MFAA) section. Harold Lloyd Henderson
Rev. Harold Lloyd Henderson (1907 - January 18, 1993) was a Presbyterian minister and politician in Manitoba, Canada. Life and work H. Lloyd Henderson was born in Freeland, Prince Edward Island, and attended schools in Freeland, Summerside, Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and at McGill University and Presbyterian College in Montreal, where he completed his studies in 1942. He was ordained by his home Presbytery in Prince Edward Island on January 14, 1943, and became Minister of the ''First Presbyterian Church'' in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. He retired in 1981, when he was designated "Minister Emeritus". He also served as Presbytery and Synod Moderator, and was a frequent Commissioner to the Presbyterian Church's in Canada's General Assembly. Harold Paulk Henderson is a retired political science professor at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia and an author. He wrote books on Georgia governors Ellis Arnall and Ernest Vandiver. The 1897 Amateur Hockey Association of Canada season was the eleventh season of play of the ice hockey league. Each team played 8 games, and Montreal Victorias were again first with a 7–1 record, retaining the Stanley Cup. The club won the Stanley Cup back from the Winnipeg Victorias prior to the season. ''Dick and Jane'' are the two main characters created by Zerna Sharp for a series of basal readers written by William S. Gray to teach children to read. The characters first appeared in the ''Elson-Gray Readers'' in 1930 and continued in a subsequent series of books through the final version in 1965.
