Harland E. Everson
Harland E. Everson (July 16, 1917 in Vernon County, Wisconsin – September 11, 1992) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. After graduating from Sparta High School (Wisconsin), Sparta High School in Sparta, Wisconsin, he attended George Washington University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He owned and operated the ''Edgerton Reporter''. Everson died from an aneurysm at age 75. Career Everson was elected to the Assembly in 1970. Additionally, he was a member of the Edgerton, Wisconsin Board of Education from 1970 to 1971. He was a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat. Vernon County, Wisconsin
Vernon County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 30,714. Its county seat is Viroqua. History Vernon County was renamed from Bad Ax County on March 22, 1862. Bad Ax County had been created on March 1, 1851, from territory that had been part of Richland and Crawford counties. The name ''Vernon'' was chosen to reflect the county's green fields of wheat and to evoke Mount Vernon. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives.
