Gary Harkins
Gary Harkins (born 2 January 1985) is a Scottish professional footballer and coach who plays as a midfielder. Having come through the youth academies at Celtic and Blackburn Rovers he would notably play in the Scottish Premiership for Kilmarnock, Dundee and St. Mirren. He also played in the English Football League for Huddersfield Town, Bury, Blackpool, Grimsby Town and Oldham Athletic, and in the Scottish Football League for Partick Thistle, Ayr United, Greenock Morton, Queen of the South, Stenhousemuir and Forfar Athletic. While at Forfar, he would also perform the role of first team coach, and later assistant manager. Playing career Blackburn Rovers Harkins started out as a schoolboy player with Celtic before joining Blackburn Rovers as a YTS player when he was sixteen years old. Todd Michael Harkins (born October 8, 1968) is an American former professional ice hockey player who played 48 National Hockey League games for the Calgary Flames and Hartford Whalers. Harkins was drafted by the Flames in the 2nd round, 42nd overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. Pat Harkins
Patrick J. Harkins (born December 22, 1963) is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for 1st District and was elected in 2006. Early life and education Harkins grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania. The youngest of five children to Bernard (Babe) and Rita Harkins. He graduated from Erie Tech Memorial High School. While in high school he earned an electrical-electronics certification. At Mercyhurst College, he studied political science and business. John Raymond Harkins (September 7, 1932 – March 5, 1999) was an American stage, film, and television actor. Life and career Born in St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended Normandy High School, Harkins began acting professionally in the mid-1950s on the Broadway stage after studying at the University of Iowa. A life member of The Actors Studio, Harkins appeared in productions of ''The Terrible Swift Sword'', ''Good as Gold'', and '' Mother Courage and Her Children'', prior to making his television debut in a 1965 episode of '' The Trials of O'Brien''. The next year, Harkins made his film debut in ''The Three Sisters'', opposite Shelley Winters and Geraldine Page. William Draper Harkins
William Draper Harkins (December 28, 1873 – March 7, 1951) was an American physical chemist, noted for his contributions to surface chemistry and nuclear chemistry. Harkins researched the structure of the atomic nucleus and was the first to propose the principle of nuclear fusion, four years before Jean Baptiste Perrin published his theory in 1919-20. His findings enabled, among other things, the development of the H-bomb. As a visiting professor with Fritz Haber in 1909, he was introduced to the study of surface tension, and he began work on the theory of solutions and solubility during a visit to MIT in 1909-1910. Harkins was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, and graduated with a PhD from Stanford University in 1907. John Anderson Harkins (10 April 1881 – 22 April 1916) was a Scottish professional footballer who played in the Football League for Leeds City and Middlesbrough. Personal life Harkins enlisted in the Black Watch in June 1898 and was bought out of the army by Middlesbrough in September 1906. Brett Alan Harkins (born July 2, 1970) is an American former professional ice hockey left wing, who played for 18 years. He played in the National Hockey League in four stints with the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and Columbus Blue Jackets between 1994 and 2002. As of January 2020, Harkins had served as a college-level scout for the Boston Bruins for over four seasons. John Joseph "Pa" Harkins (April 12, 1859 – November 20, 1940) was a 19th-century Major League Baseball player who pitched for three teams in his five season career that lasted from to . Playing career After attending Rutgers University as a chemistry student, he signed a contract with a Semi-professional team based in Trenton, New Jersey in 1881. He played with Trenton until 1884 when he was sold to the Cleveland Blues of the National League. John finished his first major league season with 12 wins against 32 losses, 42 complete games, and a 3.68 earned run average. When the 1884 season finished, the Blues folded, and many of their player were bought by the Brooklyn Grays, including John, Doc Bushong, George Pinkney, and Germany Smith. Harkins Transportation Company was founded in 1914 by L.P.(Lovelace Perne) Hosford, Henry Pittock, Henry L. Pittock, and A.J. Lewthwaite. The line was named after the tugboat ''Jessie Harkins'', which had been built by Jacob Kamm and named after Hosford's niece. The line ran steamboats on the lower Columbia from 1914 to 1937, when it was forced into bankruptcy.
