Haripur Upazila
Haripur ( bn, হরিপুর) is an upazila of Thakurgaon District in the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Geography Haripur is located at . It has 19559 households and total area 201.06 km2. Haripur upazila is bounded by Ranisankail Upazila on north and on the east, Hemtabad and Raiganj CD blocks in Uttar Dinajpur district, West Bengal, India, on the south and Karandighi and Goalpokhar I CD blocks in Uttar Dinajpur district on the west. Demographics As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Haripur has a population of 101658. Males constitute 50.93% of the population, and females 49.07%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 49922. Haripur has an average literacy rate of 19.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. Administration Haripur Upazila is divided into six union parishads: Amgaon, Bakua, Bhaturia, Dangipara, Gedura, and Haripur. The union parishads are subdivided into 75 mauzas and 70 villages. Ranisankail ( bn, রাণীশংকৈল) is an Upazila of Thakurgaon District in the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Geography Ranisankail is one of the ancient areas of Bengal. It lies in the North-east corner of Bangladesh and has a total area of 287.59 km2. It lies about 420 km from Dhaka, the capital City of Bangladesh. The main rivers flowing through Ranisankail are the Kulic, Nagar, and Timai rivers. 1991 Bangladesh Census
In 1991, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, conducted a national census in Bangladesh. They recorded data from all of the districts and upazilas and main cities in Bangladesh including statistical data on population size, households, sex and age distribution, marital status, economically active population, literacy and educational attainment, religion, number of children etc. According to the census, Hindus were 10.5 per cent of the population, down from 12.1 per cent as of 1981. Bangladesh have a population of 106,314,992 as per 1991 census report. Majority of 93,886,769 reported that they were Muslims, 11,184,337 reported as Hindus, 616,626 as Buddhists, 350,839 as Christians and 276,418 as others. Goalpokhar I is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Islampur subdivision of Uttar Dinajpur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Karandighi is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Islampur subdivision of Uttar Dinajpur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Asiatic Society Of Bangladesh
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972.
