Harilal Dhruv
Harilal Harshadrai Dhruv (10 May 1856 – 19 June 1896) ( gu, હરિલાલ ધ્રુવ) was a lawyer, poet, editor, indologist and scholar of Sanskrit literature. Educated in Arts and Law, he served as a teacher and later as a judge of Baroda state. He was interested in oriental studies. He wrote poetry and edited some works too. Life Dhruv was born in Hindu Nagar Brahmin family in 1856. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1873 and LL.B in 1880. Dhruv worked as a teacher from 1881 to 1885. Later he started his law career as a pleader from Surat, and was elevated to post of District and Session Judge of Baroda state. He was sent as a representative of Bharuch in the annual session of Indian National Congress in 1898 by Baroda state. Harilal Mohandas Gandhi (born Hiralal Mohandas Gandhi; 23 August 1888 – 18 June 1948) was the eldest son of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. He had three younger brothers: Manilal Gandhi, Ramdas Gandhi and Devdas Gandhi. Early life Harilal was born on 23 August 1888, just before his father left for England for higher studies. Harilal remained in India with his mother. Harilal was involved in the Indian independence movement, and was imprisoned as a satyagrahi six times between 1908 and 1911. His willingness to endure these sentences earned him the nickname of 'Chhote (Little) Gandhi'. He too wanted to go to England for higher studies, hoping to become a barrister as his father had once been. His father however firmly opposed this, believing that a Western-style education would not be helpful in the struggle against British rule over India, leading to tensions between father and son. Harilal Manilal Patel (born 1941) is a Fiji Indian lawyer who has also been a member of the House of Representatives of Fiji. He was born in Suva, Fiji and after completing his law degree from the University of Auckland in 1968, started working with K. C. Ramrakha and set up his own law firm in 1977. Harilal Upadhyay (Gujarati language, Gujarati: હરિલાલ ઉપાધ્યાય) was a Gujarati novelist and poet. He wrote more than 100 books. Life Harilal Upadhyay was born on 22 January 1916 in Mota Khijadiya village near Rajkot in a Brahmin family of Jadavji and Gangaben. His father was a priest in a temple at Makaji Meghpar. He completed his primary education from Paddhari while living with his father's elder brother Bhavanishankar and sister Dayakunwarben. He moved to Jamnagar and studied in Sanskrit Pathshala where he mastered in traditional rituals and texts under Trambakram Shastri. He started writing poetry during his stay in Jamnagar. At the age of 13, he recited a poem in public. His first short story, "Hridaypalto", was published in ''Modhbandhu'' magazine at the age of 15, and another story was published in ''Beghadi Moj''. Sir Chimanlal Harilal Setalvad KCIE (July 1864 – 10 December 1947) was an eminent Indian barrister and jurist who practiced in the Bombay High Court in the early 20th century. The eldest of four brothers, he was born into an aristocratic ''Brahmakshatriya'' family which had achieved distinction in the law for the preceding two generations.
