''Hardworlder'' is the sixth studio album released by the American heavy metal band Slough Feg (formerly known as The Lord Weird Slough Feg). A vinyl edition was released in 2008 by Iron Kodex Records. The pressing was limited to 525 copies. The first 100 of them were the orange "Gully Foyle" edition. Slough Feg
Slough Feg (also known as The Lord Weird Slough Feg) is an American Heavy Metal music, heavy metal band from Pennsylvania, formed in 1990 and currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Taking their name from the Celts, Celtic folklore-influenced comic book Sláine (comics), Sláine, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1996. Slough Feg combines influences from traditional heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Brocas Helm (band), Brocas Helm, and Thin Lizzy, as well as English folk metal band Skyclad (band), Skyclad. Slough Feg's 2003 album ''Traveller (Slough Feg album), Traveller'' was a concept album based on the Traveller (role-playing game), role-playing game of the same name. ''Atavism'' is the fifth studio album released by the American heavy metal band Slough Feg (formerly The Lord Weird Slough Feg). A vinyl edition was also produced by Forest Moon Special Products in a limited print of 500. The title of the album: atavism In biology, an atavism is a modification of a biological structure whereby an ancestral genetic trait reappears after having been lost through evolutionary change in previous generations. Atavisms can occur in several ways; one of which is when ..., is the tendency to revert to ancestral type. Mike Scalzi
Michael Scalzi (born December 8, 1969) is an American musician and a philosophy professor at Diablo Valley College. He is the frontman for the heavy metal band Slough Feg. Career Scalzi's first band was Heart of Darkness, a crossover/ hardcore band. He originally auditioned to be the band's guitarist but that role was already taken, so instead he took the spot as the band's vocalist. The Lord Weird Slough Feg In the late 1980s, Scalzi formed The Lord Weird Slough Feg in Pennsylvania, but relocated to San Francisco in 1990 with the hopes of resurrecting the heavy metal scene in the United States. The band produced three demo tapes in the early 1990s before releasing their self-titled debut album in 1996. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Horslips
Horslips are an Irish Celtic rock band that compose, arrange and perform songs frequently inspired by traditional Irish airs, jigs and Reel (dance), reels. The group are regarded as 'founding fathers of Celtic rock' for their fusion of traditional Irish music with rock music and went on to inspire many local and international acts. They formed in 1970 and 'retired' in 1980 for an extended period. The name originated from a spoonerism on Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse which became "The Four Poxmen of The Horslypse". Manilla Road was an American heavy metal band from Wichita, Kansas, founded by Mark "The Shark" Shelton (vocals and guitar) and Scott "Scooter" Park (bass guitar). ''The Táin'' is an album by Ireland, Irish rock band Horslips. Their second studio album, it was Horslip's first attempt at making a concept album, an idea they would return to in 1976 with ''The Book of Invasions (album), The Book of Invasions: A Celtic Symphony''. ''The Táin'' was based on the Táin Bó Cúailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), one of the most infamous Irish Mythology, legends of Early Irish literature, dealing with the war between Ulster and Connacht over a prize bull. The songs tell the story from the points of view of Cúchulainn, Medb, Queen Maeve of Connacht and Ferdia, among others.
