Bailey Hardeman
Bailey Hardeman (1795–1836) was the first Secretary of the Treasury for the Republic of Texas. Family Bailey was a younger son of Thomas Hardeman and his first wife Mary Perkins. Both families were early settlers in Tidewater Virginia. Thomas Hardeman was a Revolutionary War soldier and served for years as a representative from Davidson County when it was the Territory South of the River Ohio, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Bailey served as a First Lieutenant in the War of 1812. Hardeman County, Texas, was named for the brothers, Bailey and Thomas Hardeman. Both were part of the first Republic of Texas government. Hardeman County, Tennessee, was named for his brother, Colonel Thomas Jones Hardeman. Donald Ray Hardeman (August 13, 1952 – June 2, 2016) was an American football running back in the National Football League. He has 5 sons, Don Hardeman Jr. (Hou), Eric Hardeman (Hou), Cedric Hardeman (Hou), Demetrius Hardeman (DC) and David Hardeman (NY). Hardeman played five seasons with the Houston Oilers and the Baltimore Colts. In his short career, he scored eleven rushing touchdowns and caught two more. He rushed for 1,460 yards on 397 attempts and caught 58 passes for 285 yards. He was drafted in the first round of the 1975 NFL Draft by the Oilers and attended Texas A&I University. Gary Hardeman
Gary Hardeman (born 26 February 1950) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between the late 1960s and early 1980s. Hardeman played as a half back and made his senior debut for Melbourne in the 1967 VFL season. He remained with the club until 1977, finishing second in the 1974 Brownlow Medal count and earning All Australian selection for his performance in the 1972 Perth Carnival. After leaving the club at the end of 1977 Hardeman joined Sturt in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) but returned to Melbourne in 1981 to play for one final season. Hardeman is only one of four footballers, with Trevor Barker, Geoff Cunningham and Steven Smith, to have played 200 VFL/AFL games but not play a final. Rachel Renee Hardeman is an American public health academic who is associate professor of Division of Health Policy and Management at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. She holds the inaugural Blue Cross Endowed Professorship in Health and Racial Equity. Her research considers how racism impacts health outcomes, particularly for the maternal health of African-Americans. Early life Hardeman is from Minneapolis. William Polk Hardeman
William Polk Hardeman (November 4, 1816 – April 8, 1898) was a Confederate States Army brigadier general during the American Civil War. He had fought in the Texas War of Independence in 1836. He was a member of the Texas Rangers and fought in the Mexican-American War in 1846–1847. During the Civil War, he participated in Brigadier General Henry Hopkins Sibley's New Mexico Campaign and in the Red River Campaign.
