''Hard Cold Fire'' is the sixteenth studio album by Northern Irish rock band Therapy?, released on 5 May 2023 through Marshall Records. Background Produced by Chris Sheldon, who produced the band's previous studio album ''Cleave'', ''Hard Cold Fire'' was released on 5 May 2023. The album was recorded in November 2021 at Marshall Studios in London. Pre-orders of the album became available on 10 March 2023 and included six different coloured LPs, a white label test pressing LP (limited to 16), a CD and a cassette. A promo video for "Joy" was also released digitally the same day. Therapy?
Therapy? are a Northern Irish rock band from Larne, formed in 1989 by guitarist-vocalist Andy Cairns and drummer-vocalist Fyfe Ewing. Therapy? recorded their first demo with Cairns filling in on bass guitar. To complete the lineup, the band recruited Larne bassist Michael McKeegan. The band signed with major label A&M Records in 1992, for which they released four albums, most notably ''Troublegum'' in 1994 and ''Infernal Love'' in 1995. Ewing's departure in early 1996 preceded the arrivals of his replacement Graham Hopkins, and Martin McCarrick on cello and guitar. Neil Cooper replaced Hopkins on drums in 2002. Following the departure of McCarrick in 2004, the band have remained a stable three-piece since. Therapy? are currently signed to UK independent label Marshall Records. Marshall is a British company that designs and manufactures music amplifiers, speaker cabinets, brands personal headphones and earphones, drums and bongos. The company also owns a record label called Marshall Records. It was founded in London by drum shop owner and drummer, Jim Marshall, and is now based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, England. Marshall's guitar amplifiers are among the most recognised in the world. Chris Sheldon
Chris Sheldon (born 25 September 1962) is an English record producer, particularly of rock music based in London, England. He has produced or mixed records for the Foo Fighters, Garbage, Big Country, Feeder, Therapy?, Biffy Clyro, Oceansize, Pixies and Shed 7. He lives in London, is married and has two daughters. Career Sheldon was born in Pakistan when his parents were posted abroad for work and grew up in Surrey. He took his first steps in the music industry when he was a drummer in several local punk bands. In the mid-1980s he worked as engineer in productions of artists such as Dead or Alive, Prefab Sprout, Elkie Brooks and Roger Waters. ''Greatest Hits (The Abbey Road Session)'' is a live-in-studio album by the rock band Therapy?. It was released by Marshall Records on 13 March 2020. The 12 tracks, all re-recordings of UK Top 40 singles originally released between 1992 and 1998, were recorded on 8 November 2019 at Abbey Road Studios in London. The album was released on black vinyl, translucent green vinyl and double CD. While initial pre-order physical copies carried the "Abbey Road" subtitle, following an issue raised by the studio over naming rights, re-pressings and all digital copies were retitled ''Greatest Hits (2020 Versions)''. The second part of the double CD release, entitled ''Official Bootleg 1990–2020'', features 15 live songs (one to represent each studio album in the band's discography) recorded between 1990 and 2018, compiled from the band's personal archives. Demo sessions for the album began at Blast Studios in Newcastle in late 2017. The album proper was recorded from 15 January to 8 February 2018 at Blast Studios. Neil Cooper (drummer)
Neil Cooper (born 2 April 1971) is an English musician best known as the current drummer of Therapy?, a rock band from Northern Ireland, and formerly of The Beyond, a rock band from England. Career Cooper was a founding member of The Beyond in 1988. The band signed with EMI Records and released two albums, entitled ''Crawl'' and ''Chasm'', the latter being recorded in New York City with Jim Thirlwell. The band toured throughout the UK, Europe and US with Therapy?, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Claytown Troupe and Living Colour. The Beyond disbanded in 1993, after which Cooper joined Cable. The band signed to Infectious Records and Cooper appeared on their debut album ''Downlift the Uptrodden''. He also played on both of their John Peel sessions and toured the UK and Europe with Ash, Girls Against Boys, Boss Hog and Oasis. Michael McKeegan
Michael McKeegan (born 25 March 1971) is a Northern Irish musician best known as the bassist of rock band Therapy?. Evil Priest In 1988, McKeegan (bass/vocals), along with his two brothers Ciaran (guitar) and Charlie (drums), formed a Heavy metal music, heavy metal band, Evil Priest. The group recorded two demo Cassette tape, cassettes - "Pretention Is No Excuse" and "Hear No Evil...". The fledgling group disbanded in 1989 when Michael McKeegan joined Therapy?. Therapy? In 1989, while McKeegan was still at school, his classmate Fyfe Ewing handed him a four song cassette that he had recorded with Andy Cairns, entitled "Thirty Seconds of Silence".
