Harald Welzer
Harald Welzer (born 27 July 1958, Wedemark) is a German social psychologist. He studied sociology, psychology and literature at the University of Hannover. He has been a professor of transformation design at the University of Flensburg since 2012. His research is focused on memory, violence and the social impacts of climate change. His books have been translated into 15 languages. Welzer was one of the first signers of the Open Letter to the German Position on Russo-Ukraining War in April 2022, who demanded not to support Ukraine with heavy arms in order to "prevent a third world war". Wedemark ( Eastphalian: ''Wiemark'') is a municipality in the district of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Wedemark is a historical landscape description for the area and is situated approximately 20 km north of Hanover. It ranks third on average per capita income in Lower Saxony. The University of Flensburg (''Europa-Universität Flensburg'') is a university in the city of Flensburg, Germany. It was founded in 1994 and is the northernmost university in Germany. Although having full university status and the right to award PhDs, Europa-Universität Flensburg mainly offers courses in education and other fields of the social sciences. ''EMMA'' is a German feminist magazine. Its print edition is published every two months in Cologne, Germany. History and profile The first issue of ''EMMA'' was published on 26 January 1977. The founder of the magazine was Alice Schwarzer, who is still publisher and editor-in-chief. The magazine was modelled on the American magazine ''Ms.'' in terms of content, targeted audience and layout. It has its headquarters in Cologne. In December 2002, the ''EMMA'' website was launched. The name of the magazine is a wordplay of the term ''emancipation'' ().
