Harald Haare
Harald Haare (3 April 1883 – 26 January 1929) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Drammen as a son of head conductor in the State Railways, Lauritz Haare (1856–1938) and Karoline Bryn (1852–1929). He was a great-great-grandson of Founding Father Christopher Borgersen Hoen and first cousin of Knut Michael Spæren. Like his father, he spent his career in the State Railways, going through the ranks and being promoted to head conductor in 1920. Haare was a member of Drammen city council from 1916, and chaired Drammen Labour Party from 1924 to 1925. He was deputy chair of the Norwegian Union of Railway Workers from 1924 and supervisory council of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions from 1926. He fielded as Labour's fourth ballot candidate in the 1924 Norwegian parliamentary election in the constituency Market towns of Buskerud county, but was not elected. Labour Party (Norway)
The Labour Party ( nb, Arbeiderpartiet; nn, Arbeidarpartiet; A/Ap; se, Bargiidbellodat), formerly The Norwegian Labour Party ( no, Det norske Arbeiderparti, DNA), is a social-democratic political party in Norway. It is positioned on the centre-left of the political spectrum, and is led by Jonas Gahr Støre. It was the senior partner of the governing red–green coalition from 2005 to 2013, and its former leader Jens Stoltenberg served as the prime minister of Norway. The Labour Party is officially committed to social-democratic ideals. Bernhard Abrahamsen
Bernhard Abrahamsen (21 December 1878 – 21 May 1945) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Lierstranden; he was a son of municipal worker Martinius Abrahamsen (1853–1938) and Pauline Bernsen (1848–1916). He worked four and a half year at a paper factory, but spent most of his career as a carpenter. Abrahamsen was a member of Drammen city council during several terms; 1916–1919, 1922–1925 and 1928–1931. In the general election of 1927 he was elected as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway, representing the Market towns of Buskerud county. The Market towns of Buskerud county ( no, Kjøpstedene i Buskerud fylke) was an electoral district for parliamentary elections in Norway. It comprised the market towns ( no, kjøpsteder) of Drammen, Hønefoss and Kongsberg in Buskerud county. The district was established ahead of the 1921 Norwegian parliamentary election following the change from single member constituencies to plural member constituencies in 1919. Following changes in the national policy on market towns in 1952, these electoral districts were abolished ahead of the 1953 Norwegian parliamentary election. Drammen
Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger. Location Drammen is located west of the Oslofjord and is situated approximately 44 km South-west of Oslo. The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions ( no, Landsorganisasjonen i Norge, LO) is a national trade union center, decidedly the largest and probably the most influential umbrella organization of labour unions in Norway. The 21 national unions affiliated to the LO have almost 1,000,000 members of a Norwegian population of 5 million. The majority of affiliated unions organizes traditional blue collar workers, but the largest affiliate is the Norwegian Union of Municipal and General Employees which makes up more than a third of all members. LO is affiliated to the ITUC and the ETUC. It was named the Workers' National Trade Union ( no, Arbeidernes Faglige Landsorganisasjon, AFL) from 1899 to 1957.
