Baby's Gang
Baby's Gang were an Italian teen pop band formed in Italy in 1983. The group comprised thirteen teenagers fronted by future italo disco star Ivana Spagna. They are mostly known for their hit single "Happy Song". History Baby's Gang was formed in 1983 by producer Larry Pinagnoli and consisted of thirteen teenagers led by vocalist Ivana Spagna. Pinagnoli, Spagna and Otto Bacciocci were responsible for writing the majority of Baby Gang's material. The signature sound of the band was a dance beat that crossed over between Italo-Disco and Electro-Pop. Baby's Gang were signed by Memory Records, spearheaded by producer Alessandro Zanni, and released a handful of successful singles, including their major hit "Happy Song". "Kalimba de Luna" is a 1984 single by Italian musician and drummer Tony Esposito. It was written by Esposito with his long-time collaborator Remo Licastro, pianist Giuseppe "Joe" Amoruso, keyboardist Mauro Malavasi and vocalist Gianluigi Di Franco. It was taken from Esposito's album ''Il grande esploratore'' (The great explorer). "Kalimba de Luna" was a European success and reached no. 3 in the Austrian chart, no. 6 in the Swiss charts and no. 14 in the Italian charts. Charts Boney M. version "Kalimba de Luna" was instantly covered by German group Boney M. for the German market, giving the group their first Top 20 hit in three years, peaking at no. 16. Marcia Barrett (born 14 October 1948) is a Jamaican-British singer and one of the original singers with the vocal group Boney M. Early years Barrett was born in Saint Catherine Parish, British Jamaica; her parents brought her to Croydon, England in 1963. Reggie Tsiboe
Reggie Tsiboe (born 7 September 1950) is a Ghanaian-British entertainer, dancer and one of the singers of the disco group Boney M. between 1982 and 1986 and later between 1989 and 1990. In 1982, Tsiboe originally replaced the dancer Bobby Farrell, but in 1984 Farrell rejoined the group and they became a quintet. In 1986, the original band split after 10 successful years, but in 1989, Liz Mitchell and Reggie formed a new official version of Boney M. and in 1990 released with the help of the producer Frank Farian the single "Stories", but a few months later both went their separate ways. Rhein-Main Air Base (located at ) was a United States Air Force air base near the city of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Frank Farian (born Franz Reuther; 18 July 1941) is a German record producer, musician, singer and songwriter, who founded the 1970s disco-pop group Boney M., the Latin pop band No Mercy and the pop band Milli Vanilli. He frequently created vocal groups in which the publicised members merely lip-sync to songs sung by session members. He owns the record label MCI and several subsidiaries.
