Hapoel Bnei Maghar ( he, הפועל בני מג'אר), also known as Ihud Bnei Magharr ( he, איחוד בני מג'אר) or Hapoel Maghar was an Israeli football club which represented Maghar. The club dissolved in January 2016, resigning from the league due to financial difficulties and lack of sufficient football stadium in Maghar. History The club was founded in 2008, replacing an older club, Hapoel Maghar, which folded in 2001. The club won Liga Gimel Upper Galilee division in 2011–12 and promoted to Liga Bet, finishing 8th in its first season , but falling to 13th and 15th in its next two seasons, participating in the relegation play-offs in each of the seasons, staying in the league with wins over Maccabi Tamra and Ahva Arraba. Liga Gimel ( he, ליגה ג', lit. ''League C'') is the fifth and bottom division of Israeli Football League, a position it has held since 2009. From Liga Alef and downwards to this, each league is separated by region as well. History Liga Gimel was first established in 1951 as a third division, below Liga Alef and Liga Bet. In 1955, after designating the first tier as Liga Leumit, Liga Gimel was demoted to the fourth tier. Further demotions followed in 1976, after the second tier Liga Artzit to the fifth tier and in 1999, after the establishment of Liga Ha'Al to the sixth tier. At the end of the 2008–09 season, Liga Artzit was scrapped and Liga Gimel was brought up back to the fifth tier. Liga Bet ( he, ליגה ב', lit. ''League B'') is the fourth tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into four regional divisions. History League football started in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. However, the financial and security crises gripping the young nation caused the 1950–51 season to be abandoned before it had started. When football resumed in 1951–52, the new top division went by the name of Liga Alef with Liga Bet as the second division. The 1952–53 season was also not played, and Liga Bet resumed in 1953–54. The 2012–13 Liga Bet season saw Beitar Nahariya (champions of the North A division), Hapoel Beit She'an/Mesilot (champions of the North B division), Hapoel Mahane Yehuda (champions of the South A division) and Maccabi Be'er Ya'akov (champions of the South B division) win the title and promotion to Liga Alef. The clubs ranked 2nd to 5th in each division entered a promotion play-off, at the end of which, in the North section Hapoel Iksal lost against Maccabi Kafr Kanna from Liga Alef North and remained in Liga Bet, while, in the South section, F.C. The Israeli football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Israel. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the system. The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for "minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018.
