Hapoel Be'er Sheva (basketball)
Hapoel Be'er Sheva B.C. ( he, הפועל באר שבע) is a professional basketball club based in Be'er Sheva, Israel. The team plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top tier of Israeli basketball. It plays its home games in the Conch Arena. History 20th century The club was founded in 1965 by Eitan Wegmann. During the eighties, the team won the Second League twice. During the nineties, the team disbanded. 21st century In 2002 the basketball club Hapoel Be'er Sheva rebranded, and started the season in the Fifth League. Within three years it qualified for the Second League. During the 2006/07 season, the team stood one game away from ascending to the Israeli Basketball Premier League, but lost the final game of a 5-game series in the Liga Leumit (Second League) finals to Hapoel Holon. Storm Warren
Storm Warren (born November 4, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim B.C. of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball for Louisiana State University before playing professionally in the Netherlands, Finland, France and Israel. Warren was named the Israeli National League Finals MVP in 2018. Early life and college career Warren attended Richwood High School in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, where he was named MVP of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class AAA team (third time as a member) and member of the All-Tournament team at the Top 28 state tournament. Warren played college basketball for the Louisiana State University's Tigers, where he averaged 8.2 points and 5 rebounds in his senior year. On 13 March 2020, the league was suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The league resumed behind closed doors on 21 June 2020 in a different format.
