Hapoel Afikim F.C.
Hapoel Afikim ( he, הפועל אפיקים) was an Israeli football club based in the Kibbutz of Afikim. The club played for eighteen successive seasons at the third tier of Israeli football league system. History The earliest documented match by members of the Kibbutz was played in May 1929, while they lived in what is today Kvutzat Kinneret. Footballers of the local Hapoel club met Hapoel Tiberias and won 1–0. Hapoel members continued to play football occasionally in the following years. The club was officially founded in 1948. During its early days, Hapoel Afikim played mostly in friendlies against nearby clubs and in regional league, comprising clubs from the Jordan Valley region, before folding in 1955 due to lack of proper reserve players. The club reformed prior to the 1962–63 season and joined Liga Gimel Valleys division. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the Mandate for Palestine, British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi World Union, Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of Israel Football Association, football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. Therefore, Hapoel became a member of Socialist Workers' Sport International, SASI in 1927 and later was a member of CSIT. Abraham "Abba" Gindin ( he, אברהם "אבא" גינדין; born 24 December 1945 in Helsinki, Finland) is a former Israeli professional football player. Early life Gindin was born and raised in Finland and grew up playing ice hockey and football for Makkabi Helsinki. Ami Ayalon
Ami Ayalon ( he, עמיחי "עמי" איילון, born 27 June 1945) is an Israeli politician and a former member of the Knesset for the Labor Party. He was previously head of the Shin Bet, Israel's secret service, and commander-in-chief of the Navy. He came in second to Ehud Barak in a Labor party leadership election in June 2007, and was appointed a Minister without Portfolio in September 2007. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any).
