Hansueli Oberer
Hansueli Oberer (11 May 1929 – 20 September 2005) was a Swiss footballer who played in the 1950s and early 1960s as a forward. Oberer first played for FC Olten in the 1 Liga, the third tier of Swiss football. He joined FC Basel's first team for their 1954–55 season under player-coach René Bader. After playing in five friendlies Oberer made his domestic league debut for his new club in the away game on 12 September 1954; he scored his first goal for his club in that game, but could not save the team from a 1–3 defeat by Chiasso. Between 1954 and 1962 Oberer played 231 games for Basel and scored 37 goals; 145 games were in the Nationalliga A, 16 in the Swiss Cup, 6 in the International Football Cup and 64 were friendlies. He scored 23 goals in the domestic league, 2 in the Cup, 1 in the International Football Cup games and the other 11 were in friendlies. The UEFA Intertoto Cup (from la, Inter, 'between' + german: toto, 'betting pool'),Most precisely, from (football pool); cf. often abbreviated and more known in the German-speaking world as UI Cup and originally called the International Football Cup, was a summer football competition. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. René Bader
René Bader (7 August 1922 – 1995) was a Swiss football forward and Trainer. Career Bader played for FC Basel between 1946 and 1953. In 1947 Basel won the Swiss Cup as they beat Lausanne 3–0 in the final at the Stadion Neufeld in Bern. Paul Stöcklin scored two goals and Bader the other. Between 1952 and 1955 and again during the season 1958–59 Bader was trainer of the Basel team. Basel won their first league title in 1953, with club legend Bader as player-manager. Basel ended the season three points ahead of BSC Young Boys. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. As with any attacking player, the role of the forward relies heavily on being able to create space for attack. A player-coach (also playing coach, captain-coach, or player-manager) is a member of a sports team who simultaneously holds both playing and coaching duties. A player-coach may be a head coach or an assistant coach. They may make changes to the squad and also play on the team.
