Hansson II Cabinet
The second cabinet of Per Albin Hansson ( sv, Regeringen Hansson II) was the cabinet of Sweden from 1936 to 1939. It was a coalition cabinet consisting of the two parties: Social Democrats and the Farmers' League. History Before the election Since 1933, the Social Democrats had organized cooperation with the Farmers' League, when a historic compromise was reached between the parties regarding political collaboration, which was an important part of the Swedish model. Hedenborg and Kvarnström (2006): p. 295. This cooperation ceased temporarily in the summer of 1936, when Per Albin Hansson resigned his first cabinet. The reason for the resignation was that it did not get the support in parliament for its defense policy, even though it was only three months left to the autumn general election. Ernst Johannes Wigforss (24 January 1881–2 January 1977) was a Swedish politician and linguist (dialectologist), mostly known as a prominent member of the Social Democratic Workers' Party and Swedish Minister of Finance. Wigforss became one of the main theoreticians in the development of the Swedish Social Democratic movement's revision of Marxism, from a revolutionary to a reformist organization. He was inspired and stood ideologically close to the ideas of the Fabian Society and guild socialism and inspired by people like R. H. Tawney, L.T. Hobhouse and J. A. Hobson. He made contributions in his early writings about industrial democracy and workers' self-management. Rosenbad (, lit. "rosen bath") is a building in central Stockholm, precinct of Norrmalm. It is a building owned by the Swedish State and serves as the seat of the Government. The present government of Sweden is the right-leaning Kristersson Cabinet. Rosenbad is located on ''Strömgatan'' on the north side of the river Norrström. It was designed by Art Nouveau architect Ferdinand Boberg, and completed in 1902. It originally housed a variety of functions, including a restaurant (until 1956) of the same name. Renovation of the entire block began in autumn 2018, and is expected to be completed in spring 2023. In the meantime, the Government Offices are housed in surrounding blocks.
