Hansa-Park is a seasonal amusement park in Sierksdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany off the Baltic Sea. It was opened on May 15, 1977 under the name Hansaland and renamed Hansa-Park in 1987. It currently spans and includes more than 125 attractions. From 1973 to 1976, the site was home to the first German Legoland. The park is owned by the Leicht family and managed by Christoph Andreas Leicht. The park attracts more than a million visitors each year, making it the fifth largest German amusement park. Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH is a German manufacturer of stationary and transportable amusement rides and roller coasters, located in Münsterhausen, Germany. History In 1982, Hubert Gerstlauer, a former employee of the Anton Schwarzkopf-owned Schwarzkopf Industries GmbH company founded his own company, named Gerstlauer Elektro GmbH. With this new Gerstlauer-named company, he delivered electric and pneumatic equipment for Schwarzkopf's facilities. After final bankruptcy of Schwarzkopf Industries GmbH in 1992, Gerstlauer Elektro GmbH acquired part of their production sites and facilities, and continued the manufacture of amusement rides and roller coasters. Escape Of Novgorod
The Escape of Novgorod (german: Flucht von Novgorod), formerly Curse of Novgorod (), is a steel roller coaster at Hansa-Park, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany manufactured by Gerstlauer. Ride experience The train departs from the station, and travels through a small indoor dark ride section filled with special effects. The train then drops down a small dip which leads onto the launch track. The train is then accelerated to 100 km/h in 1.4 seconds, immediately into a hard banked turn to the right, curving upwards, and out of the building. The train passes a top-hat which provides a moment of airtime, before dropping back down. The train then travels through a large overbanked turn to the left and into a pretzel-turn. Following the pretzel-turn, the train travels through a heartline-roll and onto a brake run which slows the train to a halt before entering the show building once more. Log flumes (colloquially known as log rides) are amusement rides consisting of a water flume and (artificial) hollow logs or boats. Passengers sit in the logs, which are propelled along the flume by the flow of water. The ride usually culminates with a rapid descent and splashdown into a body of water, which may happen more than once (normally the largest drop being just before the end). Anton Schwarzkopf (8 July 1924 – 30 July 2001) was a German engineer who founded Schwarzkopf Industries GmbH, a German manufacturer of roller coasters and other amusement rides that were sold to amusement parks and travelling funfairs around the world. Early years Anton Schwarzkopf, born in Bahlingen, Germany, began as an apprentice in his father's business, which focused on the design of specialised trailers used to transport circus equipment. By 1954, his father's company had transitioned into creating amusement rides.
