Hans Schneider (ice Hockey)
Johann Schneider (14 September 1913 – 22 January 1993) was an Austrian ice hockey player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1948 Winter Olympics. Career Schneider played for the Pötzleinsdorfer Sport Klub from 1931 and remained active there even after it was renamed EK Engelmann Wien , winning the German championship title with them in 1939 . After the 1939 merger of EKE and the Vienna Ice Skating Club to form the Vienna EG , he played for them from 1939 and became German champion again with them in 1940 . After the Second World War he played from 1946 again for EK Engelmann Vienna. Hans Schneider (mathematician)
Hans Schneider (24 January 1927 in Vienna, Austria - 28 October 2014) was a British-American mathematician, and James Joseph Sylvester Emeritus Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He was the first president of the International Matrix Group (1987-1990) and its successor, the International Linear Algebra Society (1990 – 1996), which established the triennial Hans Schneider Prize in 1993. Schneider was a founding editor (1968-1972) and then editor-in-chief of ''Linear Algebra and Its Applications'' (1972 - 2012) and an Advisory Editor of the ''Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra''. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in 1952; his advisor was Alexander Craig Aitken. Following his doctorate, he taught at the Queen's University of Belfast until 1959, when he moved to the University of Wisconsin. He retired in 1993. He was the author of over 160 research papers. Hans Ernst Schneider (15 December 1909 – 18 December 1999), was a German professor of literature under his alias Hans Schwerte. His real identity as a former SS officer was revealed in April 1995. Early life and Nazi years Hans Ernst Schneider was born in Königsberg on 15 December 1909. He studied in Königsberg (1928), Berlin (1929), again in Königsberg (1930) and in Vienna (1932). In 1932 he joined the National Socialist German Students' League. In 1933 he did voluntary work with the ''Freiwilliger Arbeitsdienst'' (a precursor of the Reichsarbeitsdienst) in Jedwilleiten at the Neman River delta and joined the SA. In 1935 he received his doctorate from Königsberg University for an unpublished dissertation on Turgenev and German literature. He was examined by Paul Hankamer in literature, Wilhelm Worringer in art history, and Hans Heyse in philosophy. Hans Joachim Schneider (14 November 1928 - 18 June 2015) was a German jurist, criminologist and psychologist. He taught as Professor of Criminology at the University of Münster. Life Hans Joachim Schneider was born in Biedenkopf, a small market town in the hills between Cologne and Kassel. From 1940 till 1949 he attended the Christian Rauch School at nearby Arolsen. Between 1949 and 1955 he studied Jurisprudence at Marburg, Frankfurt and Cologne. He passed his national law exams in 1955 (Part I) at the Cologne district High court and 1961 (Part II) at Düsseldorf. During this period he received his doctorate in 1957 from Cologne University. For his dissertation he was supervised by Gotthold Bohne. Hans Schneider was a Swiss footballer who played for FC Basel as a striker. Schneider joined FC Basel in 1921, but didn't play his first test game for the team until 5 June 1922. He played his domestic league debut on 30 November 1924 in the goalless draw against Old Boys.
