Hans Hansen, called Hans í Mikladali (14 November 1920 – 8 March 1970Kunst Indeks Danmark: Hans Hansen'. URL last accessed 2007-08-13.) was a Faroese painter from Mikladalur, Faroe Islands. His career started with sea fishing from the age of fifteen, and it was only after meeting the painter Jóhannes Sveinsson Kjarval in Iceland during the second world war that he decided to train as a painter. He travelled to Copenhagen in 1949 and studied, first in Bizzie Højers art school, and then at the Academy of Fine Arts' painting school from 1953 to 1957, where he became interested in fresco painting technique. He graduated and then returned to the Faroe Islands, where he worked as a visual artist in Tórshavn Tórshavn (; lit. Hans Hansen Bergen (–1654) was one of the earliest settlers of the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, and one of the few from Scandinavia. He was a native of Bergen, Norway. Hans Hansen Bergen was a shipwright who served as overseer of an early tobacco plantation on Manhattan Island, before eventually removing to Brooklyn's Wallabout Bay, where he was one of the earliest settlers and founded a prominent Brooklyn clan. Hans Peter Hansen (20 December 1829 – 18 November 1899) was a Danish xylographer who specialized in portraits. Hansen was born in Copenhagen. He first learned the profession of watchmaking before studying woodcutting under Hans Christian Henneberg, Johann Adolf Kittendorff, and Johan Peter Aagaard. At the same time, he also followed courses at the Academy of Arts of Copenhagen (1843/44). In 1854, he travelled to Germany, first to Dresden and then to Leipzig, where he settled. In 1859, he married Clara Aurelia Sophie Langer (5 August 1830 – 1 July 1913), the daughter of the engraver Georg Gottfried Langer and sister of engraver Karl Hermann Theodor Langer (17 December 1819 – 1895). He is best known for his portraits of the Mozart family, painted during his second stay in Vienna: Constanze Mozart and a double portrait of her sons, Karl Thomas and Franz Xaver, which are currently on display in Salzburg.
