Hans Geister
Hans Geister (September 28, 1928 – May 16, 2012) was a German track and field athlete, who mainly competed in the 400 metres. He was born in Duisburg-Hamborn. He was German 400 meters champion in 1951. In the same year he was part of the CSV Marathon Krefeld club team that won the British championship 4x440 yard relay. He competed in the 4 x 400 metre relay for Germany at the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland, where he won the bronze medal with his teammates Günter Steines, Heinz Ulzheimer and Karl-Friedrich Haas. Im 1954 he was part of the German 4x400 meters relay team which won the silver medal in the European championships. Heinz Ulzheimer
Heinz Ulzheimer (December 27, 1925 – December 18, 2016) was a West German track and field athlete, who mainly competed in the 800 metres. He was born in Höchst. Arnd Krüger
Arnd Krüger (born July 1, 1944) is a German professor of sport studies. Krüger earned his BA (English major) from UCLA in 1967 and his PhD from the University of Cologne (Modern and Medieval History) in Germany in 1971. He attended UCLA on a track scholarship, was 10 times German champion, and represented West Germany at the 1968 Summer Olympics in the 1500 metres run, where he reached the semi-final. He was one of the first Germans to be honored as ''All-American'' for being part of the UCLA Distance Medley Relay which ran faster than the World Record in 1965. After completing the PhD, Krüger worked for the German Sports Federation (1971–74), and the Berlin Teachers' Training College (1974–78) and taught part-time at the German National Coaching Academy.
