Hans Arnold
Hans Arnold (22 April 1925 – 25 October 2010) was an artist, born in Switzerland, who lived and worked in Sweden from 1947 until his death in 2010. He illustrated many magazines and books. He is perhaps best known for his illustrations for the ''Bland tomtar och troll'' books, and for the cover he did for the ABBA ''Greatest Hits'' album. In 2019 a feature-length documentary about Hans Arnold was released: Hans Arnold - Art of the Witchmaster'. Background Arnold was born in Sursee. He had a very strict Catholic education which included strong beliefs in heaven and hell. As a small boy, Arnold used to play the violin. Arnold began drawing caricatures of his teachers in school and sold them to his friends. Art career Arnold moved to Sweden in 1947. He was known in some circles for his horror art, which had a very distinct style. Gunnel Linde (14 October 1924 – 12 June 2014) was a Swedish writer who has written over forty children's books, among them ''Den vita stenen'' and '' I Am a Werewolf Cub''. Astrid Lindgren
Astrid Anna Emilia Lindgren (; ; 14 November 1907 – 28 January 2002) was a Swedish writer of fiction and screenplays. ''Most Beloved Sister'' ( sv, Allrakäraste syster) is a 1949 children's book by the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. It was originally included in the collection ''Nils Karlsson-Pyssling: sagor'' (), then re-released in 1973 with illustrations by Hans Arnold. Plot The story revolves around seven-year-old Barbro, who has a secret twin sister called Ylva-li, the only person in Barbro's life who likes her more than anything else, and who calls her Most Beloved Sister. Ylva-li is the queen of the golden hall which can be reached by crawling down a hole under the rose bush, Salikon. Barbro and Ylva-Li ride their horses and have adventures together. When Barbro has to return to her parents, Ylva-Li tells her that she will die when the roses on Salikon wither. ''Storm Corrosion'' is the self-titled only album from Storm Corrosion, the musical collaboration between Mikael Ã…kerfeldt, frontman of Opeth, and Steven Wilson, frontman of Porcupine Tree. The album was released on May 7, 2012 by Roadrunner Records. Background Having worked with each other in the past, Ã…kerfeldt and Wilson decided to start work on a collaboration, on an intermittent basis, in March 2010. Wilson later said that only "15-20%" of the album would have drums on it, performed by Porcupine Tree drummer Gavin Harrison. Ralph Lundsten
Ralph Lundsten (born 6 October 1936) is a Swedish composer of electronic music, as well as a film director, artist and author. He was born and raised in Ersnäs, Norrbotten, in northern Sweden, and now lives in Nacka on the outskirts of Stockholm, still close to the forest and the sea. His home is Castle Frankenburg, a pink wooden mansion dating from 1878 which also houses his electronic music studio, Andromeda Studio. Since 1959 he has lived an independent life, creating his own personal musical language, and preparing original films and exhibitions. Qoph (band)
Qoph is a progressive rock band from Stockholm, Sweden, present since 1994. Biography Qoph started in the 1990s as one of the pioneers of the stoner rock scene in Sweden. Originally formed as an experimental rock act Robin Kvist joined the band adding Swedish lyrics on what was later to become Qoph's debut album '' Kalejdoskopiska Aktiviteter'' (Kaleidoscopic Activities), released in 1998. The album cover was painted by Swiss/Swedish surrealist artist Hans Arnold, who also did the cover for the 1976's ABBA album, ''Greatest Hits''. Drummer Federico de Costa, guitarist Filip Norman and bassist Patrik Persson were core members of several line ups before 1998. Many of the earlier songs were instrumental.
