Hans-Jürgen Gerhardt
Hans-Jürgen Gerhardt (born 5 September 1954 in Altenburg, Thuringia) is an East German bobsledder who competed in the late 1970s and early 1980s. At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, he won two medals with a gold in the four-man and a silver in the two-man events. Bobsleigh or bobsled is a team winter sport that involves making timed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sleigh. International bobsleigh competitions are governed by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, also known as FIBT from the French .
