Hanny Saputra
Hanny R. Saputra (born 11 May 1965) is an Indonesian director. One of his films, '' Under the Protection of Ka'Bah'', was Indonesia's submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in the 84th Academy Awards. Biography Saputra was born in Salatiga, Central Java, on 11 May 1965. As a child he enjoyed watching movies, and in 1985 he enrolled in the Jakarta Art Institute to learn filmmaking. In 1997 he made his directorial debut with the television film ''Sepanjang Jalan Kenangan'' (''Along Memory Lane''), which was not picked up by any stations as it was considered too idealistic. He released his first feature film, ''Tato'', in 2002. After input from senior filmmakers Leo Sutanto and Lo Fen Koei, he began to focus more on commercially viable films, releasing ''Virgin'' two years later. Salatiga
Salatiga ( jv, ꦯꦭꦠꦶꦒ) is a Cities of Indonesia, city in Central Java province, Indonesia. It covers an area of and had a population of 192,322 at the 2020 Indonesian census, 2020 Census. ''Love Story'' is a 2011 Indonesian drama film directed by Hanny Saputra. The film stars Acha Septriasa and Irwansyah. Plot Ranti (Acha Septriasa) and Galih (Irwansyah) are childhood friends whose destitute, isolated villages are separated by a river. A local legend states that the river arose when Joko Angin-Angin fell in love with the Moon Goddess and, when they were unable to be together, stomped his feet and cracked the Earth. A related belief is that persons from the separated villages who fall in love are destined to bring doom and disaster to their village. Despite this, Ranti and Galih share feelings for each other, and after completing his university studies in Bandung Galih returns to the village to build a schoolhouse to help Ranti teach the village children. Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, better known by his pen name Hamka (17 February 1908 – 24 July 1981) was an Indonesian ʿālim, philosopher, writer, lecturer, politician and journalist. First affiliated with the Masyumi Party, until it was disbanded due to connection to the PRRI rebellion, Hamka was jailed because he was close to other PRRI members.
