Hanns Blaschke
Hanns Blaschke (1 April 1896, in Vienna – 25 October 1971, in Salzburg) was an Austrian politician. A member of the Nazi Party (NSDAP), he served as mayor of Vienna from 30 December 1943 until 6 April 1945. Biography Blaschke was born in Vienna in 1896. The son of a tax officer, he studied electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology. His studies were interrupted in 1914 by the outbreak of World War One. Blaschke fought as a lieutenant in the Austro-Hungarian Army until the end of the war. He resumed his studies and graduated in 1922. As early as 1931 Blaschke was working as an illegal functionary in the Austrian NSDAP. Hanns Hopp
Hanns Hopp (9 February 1890 – 21 February 1971) was a German architect. Hopp was born in Lübeck and studied at the University of Karlsruhe and the Technical University of Munich. From 1918 he was employed as an architect for the local authorities in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad), and from 1920 for the Deutsche Ostmesse, or Eastern Fair. From 1926 he worked as a private architect in Königsberg. In 1944 Hopp left Königsberg and settled in Dresden, continuing his professional career in East Germany (the German Democratic Republic). Between 1952 and 1966 he was President of the Deutsche Bauakademie, the national academy of architecture and construction. He died in 1971 in East Berlin. Johannes (Hanns) Ernst Richard Lilje (20 August 1899, in Hannover – 6 January 1977, in Hannover) was German Lutheran bishop and one of the pioneers of the ecumenical movement. Lilje was general secretary of the German Student Christian Movement 1924–34. He was involved in Confessing Church struggle in Nazi Germany from 1933 onwards. After World War II he became the bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran State Church of Hanover in 1947 until his retirement. He was also the presiding bishop of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany 1955–69, president of the Lutheran World Federation and World Council of Churches. He was also abbot of Loccum under title Johannes XI. Following WWII Lilje authored "The Valley of the Shadow" about his experiences during his imprisonment by the Nazis. Hanns Kreisel (16 July 1931 – 18 January 2017) was a German mycologist and professor emeritus. He was born in Leipzig in 1931. Kreisel was a professor at the University of Greifswald. His field was the classification of fungi, where he has studied this group of organisms not only in Germany but in almost all continents, as in Brazil, Seychelles, Vietnam, Cuba and Syria. He had succeeded with his first collaboration to develop a scientifically sound and current fungal flora of Yemen. Kreisel also specialized in the fungal groups of gut fungi. Kreisel was also the editor of several international scientific journals. He died in January 2017 at Wolgast. Hanns Kräly (January 16, 1884 – November 11, 1950), credited in the United States as Hans Kraly, was a German actor and screenwriter. His main collaborations were with director Ernst Lubitsch, and they worked together on 30 films between 1915 and 1929. Kräly is also notable for his comedy play '' Kohlhiesel's Daughters'' which has been turned into films on a number of occasions. Kräly was nominated for three Academy Awards for writing. He won the award for Best Writing with '' The Patriot'' in 1930. Hanns Kerrl (11 December 1887 – 14 December 1941) was a German Nazi politician. His most prominent position, from July 1935, was that of Reichsminister of Church Affairs. He was also President of the Prussian Landtag (1932–1933) and head of the ''Zweckverband Reichsparteitag Nürnberg'' and in that capacity edited a number of Nuremberg rally yearbooks. Hanns Johst (8 July 1890 – 23 November 1978) was a German poet and playwright, directly aligned with Nazi philosophy, as a member of the officially approved writers’ organisations in the Third Reich. The statement “When I hear the word culture, I reach for my gun”, variously misattributed to Heinrich Himmler, Joseph Goebbels and Hermann Göring, was in fact a corrupted version of a line in his play ''Schlageter''. Hanns Jelinek (5 December 1901 – 27 January 1969) was an Austrian composer of Czech descent who is also known under the pseudonyms Hanns Elin, H. J. Hirsch, Jakob Fidelbogen. Biography Jelinek was born and died in Vienna. His father was a machine operator (died 1917). At the age of 6 he began violin lessons and at age 7, began learning the piano. In 1918 he became a member of the newly founded Communist Party of Austria. In 1918–19 Jelinek studied briefly with Arnold Schoenberg in the composition seminar which Schoenberg gave at Eugenie Schwarzwald's School in Vienna (with a focus on counterpoint and harmony), and privately with Alban Berg.
