Hanni Rehborn
Hanni Rehborn (20 November 1907 – 30 November 1987) was a German diver who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. She finished sixth in the 10 metre platform event. Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into water from a platform or springboard, usually while performing acrobatics. Diving is an internationally recognized sport that is part of the Olympic Games. In addition, unstructured and non-competitive diving is a recreational pastime. LEN European Aquatics Championships
The European Aquatics Championships is the continental Aquatics championship for Europe, which is organised by LEN—the governing body for aquatics in Europe. The Championships are currently held every two years (in even years); and since 2022, they have included 5 aquatics disciplines: Swimming (long course/50m pool), Diving, Synchronised swimming, Open water swimming and High diving. Prior to 1999, the championships also included Water polo, which beginning in 1999 LEN split-off into a separate championships. The open water events are not held during the Olympic year. The Championships are generally held over a two-week time-period in mid-to-late Summer; however, in the most recent Summer Olympics years (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020), the Championships were moved to the Spring to be moved away from the Summer Olympic Games. The 1928 Summer Olympics ( nl, Olympische Zomerspelen 1928), officially known as the Games of the IX Olympiad ( nl, Spelen van de IXe Olympiade) and commonly known as Amsterdam 1928, was an international multi-sport event that was celebrated from 28 July to 12 August 1928 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The city of Amsterdam had previously bid for the 1920 and 1924 Olympic Games, but was obliged to give way to war-torn Antwerp in Belgium for the 1920 Games and Pierre de Coubertin's Paris for the 1924 Games. The only other candidate city for the 1928 Olympics was Los Angeles, which would eventually be selected to host the Olympics four years later. In preparation for the 1932 Summer Olympics, the United States Olympic Committee reviewed the costs and revenue of the 1928 Games. The committee reported a total cost of US$1.183 million with receipts of US$1.165 million, giving a negligible loss of US$18,000, which was a considerable improvement over the 1924 Games. Anni Rehborn
Anni Rehborn (25 August 1904 – 15 January 1986) was a German swimmer who won a bronze medal in the freestyle relay at the 1927 European Aquatics Championships. She entered the 1928 Summer Olympics, but did not compete for unknown reasons. During her career she won eight national titles in the 100 m backstroke (1923–1925, 1927–1929) and 100 m freestyle events (1923–1924). Family Rehborn was the wife of Karl Brandt, one of Adolf Hitler's personal physicians. The two married on 17 March 1934. The couple had one child, Karl Adolf Brandt, born 4 October 1935. With her husband a part of Hitler's inner circle, Rehborn became close friends with both Eva Braun and Margarete Speer, wife of Albert Speer. Karl Brandt led the Action T4 euthanasia programme started by a decree from Hitler in September 1939, in which disabled patients were executed by the regime.
