Hanna-Barbera In Amusement Parks
Through its history, Hanna-Barbera has operated theme park attractions, mostly as a section in Kings Island, Carowinds, California's Great America, Kings Dominion, Canada's Wonderland, and, recently, Six Flags Great America. Outside North America, the theme parks were also available in several countries, notably in the United Kingdom, China, India, and Australia, which was part of Australia's Wonderland, which is now defunct. Hanna-Barbera Land was also opened in Houston, Texas. The sections contained in the KECO Entertainment-owned parks were retained when their parent park, except the one in Australia, was bought by Paramount Communications (formerly Gulf+Western, and later acquired by Viacom), then the parent of Paramount Pictures, which changed the name of the parks by adding "Paramount's" in front of their names. The second incarnation of CBS Corporation (the first being a short-lived rename of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation) was an American multinational media conglomerate with interests primarily in commercial broadcasting, publishing, and television production. Kings Entertainment Company (KECO) owned and/or operated six theme parks around the world. The company was originally owned by Taft Broadcasting and in 1984 was purchased for $167.5 million by senior executives and general managers of Taft's Amusement Park Group. In 1992, the company was sold to Paramount Communications (formerly Gulf+Western, and later acquired by Viacom), then the parent of Paramount Pictures, which changed the name of the parks by adding "Paramount's" in front of their names. Bedrock City is a Flintstones-themed roadside attraction consisting of an amusement park and RV park at the corner of Arizona State Route 64 and U.S. Route 180 in Coconino County, in the U.S. state of Arizona. Bedrock City (South Dakota)
Flintstones Bedrock City was a 62-acre theme park and campground in Custer, South Dakota in the Black Hills which featured buildings and characters inspired by ''The Flintstones'' television series. The facility opened in 1966 and closed in 2015. The campground was reopened as Buffalo Ridge Campground Resort. As of July 2019, all the Flintstones items have been taken down and more camping sites added. They are planning ten tree houses in 2020 and are also currently rebuilding the pool.
