Hank Parker
Hank Parker is a well-known professional bass fisherman in the United States. In 1979, and 1989, the native of Maiden, North Carolina won two Bassmaster Classic tournaments, the biggest event in his sport. He is one of only four anglers to win the event more than once. Additionally, he was the first angler to win the Grand Slam of competitive bass fishing which includes the Classic, B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year in 1983, and B.A.S.S. SuperBass Tournament in April 1985. Hank finished in the money in 76% of B.A.S.S. tournaments he fished. Parker teamed up with Michael Runnels to create '' Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine'' in 1984, and debuted on January 12, 1985 on The Nashville Network cable channel. Mercury Marine is a marine engine division of Brunswick Corporation headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The main product line is outboard motors. It also produces the MerCruiser line of sterndrives and inboard motors. Some manufacturing is in Fond du Lac, while 40-60 HP motors are made in China. History Founding The Kiekhaefer Mercury company began in 1939 when engineer Carl Kiekhaefer purchased a small outboard motor company in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Kiekhaefer's original intention for the Kiekhaefer Corporation was to make magnetic separators for the dairy industry. The purchase included 300 defective outboard motors. Ranger Boats are a popular line of bass fishing boats designed primarily for black bass fishing. Since launching, the company has expanded their line of boats to offer recreational options as well. The company has fiberglass boats, but with the modern success of the aluminum boat on top tournament trails, unveiled an aluminum series. The company was founded in 1968 by Forrest L. Wood in Flippin, Arkansas. Ranger is generally credited with the introduction of the modern bass boat.
